it’s okay! i realized my reply was a bit cryptic and could’ve been easily misunderstood
Is Spotify a real legitimate measure of success when it’s easy to manipulate?

Spotify is an international platform so why should they put restrictions and limit it to a country??
Make it make sense
-
I didn’t say it SHOULD’NT be used as a measure, but it’s not as reliable compared to MelOn due to MelOn having higher restrictions
How is MelOn representative though?
It is only for Korea, what about the other parts of the world?

I guess people have already forgotten how Melon was sajaegi'd the heck out of for a long, long time, how many K-pop fans denied it happening
because their biases ended up high on Melon, only for the sajaegi to be proven consistently and factually correct by third parties - and even now it's not even 100% sure whether Melon has barred all the doors through which sajaegi did happen and can happen :rolleyes1:This.

That’s why the best way to gauge a group’s success is base on all metrics - Spotify, YouTube, apple, melon, touring, album sales, music awards (local or overseas), live stream views etc. If a group can top all (or top 3?), they are s-tier level of success. A-tier would probably those who are in top 10 in all, B-tier for those who achieve some of the metrics and so on.
