Like when you look back at old 2nd Gen groups, their album sales weren't good. Heck Sistar's albums (Sistar are my faves so yeah I'ma drag them why not so people can't say I'm an anti) are selling at like what 1/4 the amount of WJSN and they are both from Starship. But you don't see people saying that "OMG SISTAR FLOPS WJSN SELL MORE WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING HIT SONGS WHEN YOU CAN'T SELL ANYTHING".

Like any new GG can outsell older 2nd Gen GGs, even StayC (which they are doing great by the way not downplaying them) rookies are selling x2 - x3 of Sistar, but no one ever said that any of the 3rd Gen or 4th Gen GGs who sell well but have significantly less digitals ae above Sistar. Not just Sistar but other groups as well but I pick Sistar because their sales weren't good.

Like you said, despite all of that, Sistar and many 2nd Gen groups have left a legacy behind, because despite their horrendous sales, their hit songs are what cement them as part of the history that made what KPOP is today, and that is important as well. Groups that sell well are obviously popular if not they won't have fans that actually buy their albums. But yes of course album sales are important, but a good mix of both to me is the most ideal
