i sorta get it he's comparing democracy with communism and saying that like communism coke cola tastes the same around the world
Yeah... I don’t get it. Is he pro-democracy but copying the US’ system isn’t the right way to go, that democracy takes a different shape in each country. Or is this just a pretty way to argue that China should stay as it is, a dictatorship with the people “allowing” it (I’m not saying they do, just that’s the picture he wants to paint). It’s an... “interesting” statement either way, and guess there’s nothing wrong with some classic usa bashing.

Its a mouth running race.
People needs to dig in and compare for themselves.
Put all the BS together China was saying" Mind your own business ,America."
well it ultimately refers to the issue of which system of gov is the best
but in the us/china scheme of things it's which country will come out on top

Imao yes that sounds like an accurate summary. With a heavy dose of China pretending to not be an authoritative dictatorship.

True, put aside democracy/ dictatorship debate, I think China said they don't want to compete with the US or anyone else is questionable, nothing wrong with competition, see how they get to play.
How do you look at what they said?

Whatever China does they need to be able to convince people in and out of China that they are legits. I think many places can be improved for them.

The host and guest are both not Taiwanese. DM me your thoughts?
USA is not a pure Democracy, if you look at how its structured. They portray a false image that they are the epitome of freedom when they jail people for profit all the same, corruption sings the same tune everywhere, the US is not an exception.
What parts are not structured as democracy for USA in your opinion?
I agree democracy isn't perfect, corruptions and other negativity are loopholes of bad democracy practices.
US utilizes a mixed economy meaning it takes from capitalism and socialism, public programs such as welfare and such are also socialist in nature. That doesn't mean its a bad thing, it just means its not a pure democracy. I don't even think pure democracy is achievable.
Democracy evolved over time since Classic Athens/ Roman republic era. Components like capitalism and others you mentioned were created and added later but these are placed on top of baseline democracy, literally" power of people" by definition.
I think the elements addressed in article below are for baseline democracy.
Democracy (Greek: δημοκρατία, dēmokratiā, from dēmos 'people' and kratos 'rule')[1] is a form of government in which the people have the authority to choose their governing legislators. The decisions on who is considered part of the people and how authority is shared among or delegated by the people have changed over time and at different speeds in different countries, but they have included more and more of the inhabitants of all countries. Cornerstones include freedom of assembly and speech, inclusiveness and equality, membership, consent, voting, right to life and minority rights.

I think what the US is dealing with today is how power of people has advanced, been entitled that goes above society, aka public interest, that's how democracy plays by book just that it can be exploited to certain level. Lawyers are trained to master all these if people wanted to find someone to blame for most of democracy side effects.
China government saw what I saw and they wanted to add components too for their version of democracy , the argument is how the baseline is upheld/ converted in China while Beijing claimed that it's their democracy.
Chinese Democracy is better for China than American Democracy would ever be. As the Worlds largest democracy, I am sure the CPC has learnt a little about how democracy works.
