My uni project and a msg to the youngsters here

  • So you probably think I only come up with intellectual kpop topics but that’s not true.. today I got an A+ ( not to brag lol) on my project about how to start social enterprises in rural areas of my country.

Basically social enterprises are Regular trade businesses with a good cause.. their are different types one of the most famous is the ones that try to solve the social issue directly like a cafe that employs only Down syndrome employees or a shop that turns home waste into recyclable products and sell them.

so you basically making money like any business but also solving a community problem or providing a need.

Some Countries have ambitious plans for social enterprises like making them 25% of the private sector.. so young people eps those in middle and high school read more about it maybe you’ll start something similar and make a change in the world...

Edit: forgot to mention my actual project jsbhaabkaba.. I wanted to start a business that contracts with the government to provide handmade traditional goods that are gifted to the government guests throughout the year. The goods will be made by the rural women who have little to no education and we provide them with material and/or training and insure quality for the government

  • Yes it’s so inspiring how much it helped in Bangladesh

and so when you mentioned your project

it just reminded me of microfinancing and how that helped other people in rural areas/poorer areas

the start may be government ventures but it could expand to selling goods to tourists and other general public

  • Yes you are right

But the problem is that their villages are far away from major cities and there is little demand and no tourists go there so someone has to interfere either take their products and go sell it to tourists or buy it from them. Then I came with the government idea and turns out they outsource making these goods To someone outside the country lol so they really welcomed the idea cuz it’s tells a story and has warm emotions and I sensed they want credit in front of their superiors lol and I didn’t mind. I just hope I get to see it happen and it gives the women a steady source of income esp in these times

nice nice...that is true one will then have to find a middle man or someone to ship and deliver goods from the rural areas to non-rural areas but with the internet's increasing usage maybe one day those women (and men i guess) can/may be able to open up an online store like the beginner's equivalent of etzy or something lol
