I was just a junior in high school not paying attention to it / Thinking the entire thing was just some random accident. I was naive to believe so.
Years later I learn this tragedy was disgustingly severe and preventable. These were people MY AGE. I am living the life of those who have tragically lost theirs. It really hits home thinking about it. That could have been my classmates. I cannot imagine losing 2/3s of my classmates, while having to witness the grief of all of all of their family members.
It’s fucking me up thinking of the mental state of the city that these kids came from. Over 200 families mourning. I imagine it as a ghost town full of nothing but the feeling of grief and hell. Sickening.
