The Restoration of IU as the Gallup #1 singer is a very bitter event for me.
It is like a romantic movie where the star crossed lovers meet and separate for several times, but in the end , the heroine marries the prescribed fiance, rich, powerful and extremely dull, and at the end of the movie, as now the rich (although not too happy) heroine passes by the old lover, who has apparently never married, her son by the rich, dull husband shows a middle finger to her mother's lover.
KPop's world conquest, global domination, etc being crushed by the domesticists, since the populace never weaned from the influence of the only-for-korea singers.
At 2010, there was exactly one, 1, uno singer who catered only for Korea. One.
I do not have to tell what her name is.
Her malice, hostility and enmity against KPop never waned and when she was beaten down, her hostility only increased.
Now she once has a veto power over KPop.
For 8 long years, KPop did not raise a hero who was strong enough to end her influence.
2026 will see BlackPink, Big Bang, BTS , EXO and Stray Kids all jumping into the arena to fight it out.
That is called an 'overkill'.
With everyone jumping, and fighting like hell, no good result can come out.
Existing acts, like aespa, IVE and whatever iteration of New Jeans after the drama is over, will not sit down quietly as well.
BTS wasting all of the second half of 2025 will hurt a lot, A LOT. JK is decisively damaged because of the scandal with an aespa member.
And, of course the Kingpin, or rather the Queenpin, will jump in after her stupid drama with Byun Wooseok will air. The Queenpin cannot forget the monies she earned from her concerts.
If everyone jumps in and BTS' new album is not as successful as some people expect, the Queenpin will win #1 again at gallup at the end of 2026 and cement the end of KPop once for all.
