Why New Jeans will be allowed back as whole - Magnetic is the last Hybe hit

  • The last song from a Hybe act, any flavor, to have reached Melon Daily #1 is , I have to say, Magnetic.

It is unlikely that Le Sserafim's song about pasta will reach Daily #1 since ADP's song is stronger.

That means Hybe will NOT have a Melon daily #1 in 2025.

Whether you like it or not, Illit has shot its bolt in Korea. It has some future in Japan, but no longer so in Korea. None of its songs not named Magnetic reached the top 10 in Melon.

That might be because its chance to set up a fandom back home was denied because of a certain fandom, but what is done is done.

New Jeans, marketed correctly, still retains the ability to create a thunder in the world , even if MHJ is no longer involved . Foreigners do not understand or give a crap about NJ's domestic difficulty, and they will swoon to NJ's hit numbers and potentially more.

And, since the 3 rebelling members do include the 2 members who can speak English, getting rid of them will be quite hard for NJ's future. Illit's future in the West was sealed when Youngseo, now with ADP, left. She was the only member who could speak English.

The current director of Ador is not the one insulted in the Korean congress by Pham Ngoc Han. The current director, Lee Dokyung, is quite ambitious and wants to grow Ador, although she appears to be loyal enough to not rebel against Bang.

That is called utilitarianism. Like forgiving those who created the 2008 financial crisis, because punishing the culprits would have depressed the economy more.

New Jeans, other than BTS, is the only act which can get universal attention (pun intended). It will anger fearnots and gllits, but their numbers , even combined, are smaller than that of bunnies.

A simple question will be enough to explain why all of the NJ members will be welcomed back, without apology, without remorse and without regrets - which of these have a potential to hold a concert at Sofi Stadium? Le S? Illit?

    Or New Jeans?

Business is business. Bang goes with the one with the greatest potential. The contract will be extended by the time they were absent and MHJ will be dealt in some way.

Too much capital has been built around NJ, and it is unlikely for Hybe to have another act which is able to create great hits like NJ. So , since the other Hybe acts have proven to be not up to speed , NJ will be accepted back with no strings.

  • Depends on the direction of the girls w/o MHJ. Will they try to be faithful to the "existing" brand, or steer in a new direction? Same for the music.

Personally, I think Ador will do a revamp, as barely any of the old team are at Ador now. Yemin Kim (Mini Me) has gone, so that leaves Nayeon, who was only the graphics designer for the girls. However, I think she left the label to go elsewhere in Hybe.

If their PD is Hitchhiker, they'll bomb, as his music is rather an acquired taste that doesn't have general appeal. If Bongo collabs with him, they could bomb still, as Ready for Love with him for SVT was seen as their weakest TT to date (and hasn't worked with them since).

  • they dont care

bango thinks he can manifacture success with hybe's money and connections

and if he doesn't much money out of it, he still has bts to survice bankruptcy/utter failure :meme-stare:

but for how long tho?? who knows :wellr:

it's not e sustainable model, but bango's ego will never let him understand he's not the talented mastermind he think he is :pepe-cringe:

more than nj's even, when mhj left that company, so did hybe's future :pepe-tea: ...

a similar parallele to sm btw :eyes::eyes: .

  • And I think we know where her next steps will lead to, too

    :meme-how-about:

  • I’m not reading your entire explanation just because like i have a job to be doing, but i agree on some level. They do NEED NewJeans for the listeners and general starpower that they offer in a way that the other GGs dont. Id say that Hybes next best bet is actually Katseye and thats gonna need a stronger little push.

with all the might of Hybe, Katseye has made only modest gain

Unless it gets a major hit its limit would have been realized

Only NJ has the potential to strike the top echelon

  • It is true that when MHJ left Hybe lost a big 'dynamo' but I think the situation will be salvageable

NJ will give up in Korea and will try for a home run outside of there, sine if it achieves foreign success the rest will come with ease

Depends on the PD and concepts...

  • Hybe is debuting two new girl groups next year: One from pledis and one from source music.

If one (or both) of these girl groups gets a hit song next year then I think the company could be revived and maybe won’t have to depend on NJs.

Pledis has always done well assembling their ggs so I’m expecting top tier members, but Pledis has a horrible track record with managing them. However, now that they’re acquired by hybe, they have more resources to deliver a stand up gg so I’d place my bets on them.

Source music’s new gg will definitely get compared to Le sserafim and maybe even Gfriend, but if they deliver a vocally amazing gg then they’ll probably sweep over le sserafim in popularity.

  • Tbh, Hybe does pretty well without them.

If you break down where the profitable side is compared to the unprofitable side, SK is the former, as they made over $110mn in profit. It's questionable if NJS would add a shit ton of money towards it, as their brand is essentially defunct, since they're starting from scratch.

Pledis' NGG will have a good start, as their GG songs are always really good. The question is about the management... and we all know how well that'll go... (remember how well managed F9 was?)

SouMus' NGG... I'm interested to see what direction they'll go. Will it be innovative, or another copy of other GG concepts already out there? Another question will be their music, as LSF's music has been lacklustre for a couple of years now.
