i only started learning at 25 because i didn't care about driving , and i still have used my license maybe 10 times since getting it .
the cost was like between 800 to 1000 euros i guess . ~
i had to take 30 code lessons, and 30 driving lessons. And then i failed the driving test twice so i had aditional classes.

I have my driver license
I was 18yo when i got it
In france you have a theorical test where you have 20 questions and you need to have less than 4 mistakes to have it
And once you have the theorical test you have to do a practical test where you drive with someone from your driving school and an examinator
I don't think you have to do a minimum of hours to pass your driver licence but most of the package include 20 hours and if you go above the 20 hours limit you pay 35e by hour.
Also it really depend cuz here we have what we call " accompany driving" where you're driving with your family and you can try to pass the exam once you did enough kilometers of driving
And usually the package for the 2 test + 20 hours of driving is around 1500 euros

I got my license later than most people, only at 22. I haven't driven since I got my license though.

We were required to attend 7-8 theoretical lessons before we could do the theoretical exam. Once passing that one, we needed at least 20+ practical lessons before being able to take the driving exam. Cost was about 300 euros but ended up more expensive to me because I failed twice and had to pay again.

I got it at 18.
Like Sooyoung, there's a theory and practical test. No mandated training period, you just gotta pass the tests. I don't know how many hours of lessons I took. I wasn't very good to start with, very nervous, but I think I passed within three months? of beginning lessons. But I took a lot of lessons in that time. What I did was book the test before I started even learning, I think, and crunched so that I was good enough by then. I operate better with pressure. I did the same thing with some work related education iirc: Book the test immediately and then mainline the material in a week lmao.

I got my driver’s license when I was 20 years old.
To get a standard Class B driver’s license ( A Class B driver’s license is the standard license that allows you to drive regular passenger cars. It typically covers vehicles with a maximum weight of around 3,500 kg and up to 8 passenger seats, not including the driver. It does not allow you to drive motorcycles, large trucks, or buses.) you usually need to complete around 34 hours of theoretical lessons and then pass a 50-question electronic exam with at least 35 correct answers, with 4 attempts available. After passing the theory part, candidates take about 16 hours of practical lessons and then the 40-minute driving test, which also typically allows 4 attempts. If someone fails all attempts, they can usually pay an extra fee to receive additional attempts, bringing the total to around 8 chances. When you fail any stage, there is normally a mandatory waiting period of about 2–4 weeks before you can retake that exam, depending on scheduling and availability.
The total cost for obtaining a license is generally around 500–700 USD, depending on the driving school and required lessons. Failing exams increases the cost: each theory test retake may cost around 20–30 USD, each practical test retake around 30–60 USD, and additional mandatory driving lessons can add another 50–150 USD to the overall cost.

down under
20 I think whereas most people here get in in their teens
there is a theory test to get a Learner's Permit (Phase 1)
then a practical test
then a simulation test conducted on a computer to get Learner's Permit (Phase 2)
then you have to drive 25 (I think it's now 50) hours to get a probationary licence (2 years)
