She is obviously great but yea the song is just kind of mid for me, not much there. I saw a good discussion on reddit regarding this, people seem to believe her team isnt quite equipped to deal with the level of fame she has quickly reached recently and you can sort of see that in the production of this song and MV.

That's an interesting point. I think we will have to wait and see, but I don't think this was the best choice of song to launch soloist career. This felt like something that would be a b-side on an album. I thought she was going to have a pop song for introduction because I don't think this will do much to launch career. However, I could easily be wrong here, but hopefully her next song is more of a pop song because it's obvious she's capable based on her song credits history.

Yea I agree, ballads often just aren't received well and any group would probably get crap for having this as their TT. A lot of people simply just don't like ballads (I'm not one of those people though!). Even though it does really suit her talents, it's not a great choice of song for her debut and it's probably going to fly under a lot of peoples radar. Regardless, I'm really excited to see what she continues to do going forward cus she obviously has the talent and artistry on her side.
