How popular are Labubu amongst your favs?

Pretty much yeah, she posted an Instagram story or two in Northern Hemisphere Spring last year about buying some Labubu, including a full box of them. It didn't even look like a sponsored post, she didn't @ popmart or anything, and she'd never posted stuff like that for other companies. It really seemed like she bought and posted because she wanted to and liked them.
Stuff snowballed from there. Kind of slowly at first, through 2024 the trend started growing and Labubu being sold out became more common with each drop. It only really took off to stupid town this year.
But anyway, Skullpanda is Popmarts best line

as far as im aware, she was among the first people i even heard about Labubus from lol
She was the one who popularized it worldwide, but the idea originally came from Thai celebrity Araya, who first started this trend in Thailand. In fact, Thai people often use toys as bag accessories, but it was Araya who introduced Labubu and became a trendsetter. Since she and Lisa are close, Lisa likely took inspiration from her. Many of Araya’s styles have influenced people in Thailand, and there are also articles confirming that Lisa played a big role in making this trend globally popular.

Chompoo Araya was the early trendsetter in Thailand.
Multiple Thai media outlets and fashion observers confirm that Chompoo Araya, known as a major fashion icon in Thailand, was seen using the Labubu keychain on her bags before it became a massive, mainstream phenomenon. She is widely credited with being the one who introduced it into the high-fashion and celebrity circles in Thailand.
Lisa ignited the global and mainstream craze.
The trend exploded into a "fever" both in Thailand and internationally after Lisa posted a story of herself unboxing the Labubu Macaron series in late April 2024. Due to her immense global influence, this single act caused the item to sell out worldwide almost instantly, and resale prices skyrocketed. This is the moment the trend went from being a niche fashion item to a viral, must-have product for the general public. Lisa is close to chompoo.
