  • JYP And Former VCHA Member KG Mutually Agree To Part Ways Following Contract Dispute

Former VCHA member KG has announced that she and JYP Entertainment have mutually agreed to part ways.

In December of last year, KG filed a lawsuit to leave VCHA and terminate her contract with JYP Entertainment.

On August 8 KST, KG took to Instagram Stories to reveal that her contract dispute with JYP Entertainment had come to an end.

The former VCHA member wrote in her post, “JYP America and KG Crown have mutually agreed to part ways as she concludes her journey with VCHA. Both parties sincerely wish each other all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you.”

JYP Entertainment releases official statement on former VCHA member KG

JYP Entertainment has issued an official statement on former VCHA member KG, who previously sued the entertainment company over accusations of poor working conditions.

According to JYPE on August 8 KST,

"JYP America and KG Crown have mutually agreed to part ways as she concludes her journey with VCHA. Both parties sincerely wish each other all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you."

Back in December of last year, KG unilaterally announced her departure from VCHA based on accusations of abuse from JYP Entertainment's staff. The former VCHA member also caused significant shock by claiming that another member had attempted to end her life due to the company's harmful working conditions.

Meanwhile, the JYP Entertainment and Republic Records girl group most recently announced its new beginning under the new brand GIRLSET on August 7 KST. The group will resume activities as 4 members with Camila, Lexi, Kendall and Savanna.

  • This is what JYPE should have done in the first place. I hope they fired everyone involved with this nonsense and that KG was at least somewhat compensated for her bullshit treatment. Also hope the remaining members are being treated better. Supposedly the people involved were fired and new management is doing better. That is the rumor at least. But this was the smart move especially as they want to focus now on the Redebut of their group

It is, though. They offered KG an opportunity to leave the group with no debt several months before KG started her lawsuit. The order was presented to both her original attorney (who she fired) and then her new one (who ghosted JYP except for one request of employee records).

It was probably this fact that made the judge order the parties to again negotiate instead of continuing the suit.

(Note that none of this relates to the allegations of mistreatment though)

    yes

I remain wary of jype (as we should of any company) but I do hope they cleaned the mess and tried to be better. And I hope they learn their lesson for the treatment of a global group. No matter how "hard" kpop like training is supposed to be.

JYP wanted to settle/offered het to leave the group two times, but she had some weird lawyers which neglected it.

Overall I will say it once again the whole situation was related to JYP American branch because in all documents and statements we've seen "California law" was mentioned. Which means it was all about dorm life and training in US.
