Is Jihyo the most popular twice member right now or is that just my FYP/TL

  • I think the major issue with Jihyo's solo debut was they picked the wrong song. I don't think Killing me good was the right title track. I think Closer would've charted better, but they indeed didn't give her better material regarding the title track. Sales for her debut was very good imo and one of the top sales for a soloist. I think for her comeback they need to pick the right song that better showcases why Jihyo is one of the best performers of all time.

I agree that Tzuyu didn't meet expectations and again I think they didn't give her good material regarding the title track. Personally I would've went with Lazy Baby as the title track because that was a much better song. I am also not expecting much from Chae's album, but like all Twice albums I will still buy

I don't understand why people keep saying Jihyo's solo is a flop. She arguably had the most successful solo for 3rd gen female after Blackpink and Pop. If you include everything like profits, albums sold, and charting worldwide, who else was more successful than Jihyo other than the one's I mentioned for 3rd generation?

Agreed I don't thinks she flopped, but could've picked better title track. I think she even said she had a different title track in mind. I thnk people focus on Korean singles charts too much. In no world is 600k sales in Korea, 41k in US, and 14k in Japan is not a flop. Plus even today there's 1million spotify listeners for her music. I think people over exaggerate the word flop

  • But overal, not many of the members makes any big impression solo/by their own and most of them will be remember as a member of Twice and nothing much more.

Patrik post without saying something shady challenge failed.

That may be true in like 2022, but in 2025? No way. Tzuyu has always been considered more popular than Jihyo and her solo bombed, like I am not even joking it was THAT bad

I have no idea where you pulled this narrative from, but it's completely false.

She had the 7th-highest first week sales of any female Kpop soloist at the time. I guess everyone but the top 6 was a flop.

Yeah that's the issue. Her sales were fine, good even, but considering how much her akgaes whined about how she was held back in JYPE, everyone expected wayyy more than what she achieved.

And there it is, the other shoe drops. There was nothing wrong with her sales, you just have something against her and her fans, so you set up unrealistic expectations out of spite. At least be honest about it.

Everyone has akgaes, but merely suggesting her career's been mishandled by JYPE doesn't make someone an akgae, because it's 100% true. You don't lose the sort of momentum she originally had without someone in charge dropping the ball completely, to say nothing of how badly they've treated her, starting with the flag incident.

  • H‍ow did T‍zuyu take a huge dip

Good question. As far as I know, there was n‍othing that happened on the 7th to explain T‍zuyu's dip. Do also note C‍haeyoung's rise around the same time, due to confirmation that she'd be having her solo debut on September 12th.

  • she gained 5000k followers the day after she lost 4000k. It was probably just a glitch that a few k followers failed to register for a day, if you look at the image of twice's full followers history that happens fairly often.

  • As we can see in the chart below, I graphed each member's change in Instagram followers in the week after Twice's performance at Lollapalooza. All members gained followers, but J‍ihyo benefited the most, by far. What was the reason for this?

    Ah ha!

And what do you mean what’s the reason? She went viral for her stages. Her live vocals and energetic dancing along with her visuals appealing to the Western audience made her performance super viral.

    My guess would be bots.

Oh of course, I agree about the virality aspect, but what I was c‍urious about is what caused J‍ihyo to stand out f‍rom the other members. It sounds like what y‍ou're proposing is that it was a combination of her "Western"-friendly visuals and superior performance skills, which I can understand.
