Changed the title of the thread from “Is kpop LGBT friendly?” to “Is kpop LGBTQ+ friendly?”. -

How is telling something true about these religions a drag? Because that is what bothers you, right? That i say these religions hate gay people.
-
-
kpop is like any other musical genre, it depend on the interpretation you have
If you want to see it as gay friendly, because you see all these men having skinship and wants to interpret it as some kind of sexual gay romance then do it
if you are more religious and you see all these mens having skinship you can interpret it as friends joking together, they aren't kissing each other, in the middle of a coit, or openly saying they are gay
so i think both interpretation are oki don't think it's lgbtq friendly, and i don't think it's anti lgbtq
but your question is really really really weird
-
Im gay, girl. I care.

Mmm, well, is not anti-lgbt atleast. Thats something.

Thread should have had religion in title, not lgbtq. It's clear what your intentions is.

I really dont care that much about Kpop, or other kpop fans. I only like a few groups and thats it.
Btw, i only make a question, lol.Lmaooo very interesting way of thinking
- You make a thread asking if kpop is lgbtq friendly cuz you see lot of religious people liking kpop
- Then someone expose you for not caring about the lgbtq representation or kpop being lgbtq friendly
- you answer that you care cuz you gay
- i then tell you that if you really care about kpop being lgbtq friendly and representation cuz you're gay you should then support artist from the lgbtq community like xlov and Holland that participate in making kpop more lgbtq friendly
- and then you answer me that you don't care about them, cuz you only care about some groups
well i guess doesitneedsaying wasn't wrong when she said that you don't actually care about kpop and lgbtq and you only did this to talk about religion
cuz as a gay person, i do really care about this
-

You know, i will never understand how fragile religious people are. They have God in their side and still hurts them when people critizice their beliefs.
My intention is for people to answer my question, if they want. -

Expose me? Lol, Is not white or black. Is not one or the other. I can care about my people and i can critizice religion. Why you think one exclude the other?
I ask a question. I dont support those groups because i dont like them. Simple as that. And i say i dont care that much, no that i dont care. Alteast i dont care enough to pretend i like them.
You care about them as kpop groups? good for you. -
-
I said don't care enough to promote those groups pretending I like them. Damn it. Not that i don't care in general.
Lol, an atheist that care this much about religions, that's interesting. -
Like any industry they use the LGBT community for convenience (to make money) with incessant queerbating and fanservice.
-
-
That's like saying you aren't lgbtq; "a non lgbtq person that cares this much about lgbtq people, that's interesting".

Ok, maybe im wrong. I think you came with this bullshit "Oh, you dont care about lgbtq+ people, you only want to talk about religion" because you want to defend religion. I was thinking, how an atheist wants to defend things that he knows are full of shit? My bad.
-
doesitneedsaying Btw, I find funny that you want to discredit the person that make the question instead of answering the question.
-
defend things that he knows are full of shit?

I wanted to know if people see K-pop as LGBTQ+ and also criticize religion. I can do both, or not?

I don't think it's fair to say a person is homophobic based on their religion. There's Christian/catholic idols that supported the LGBT community.
It's hard to know if it's performative with companies and idols, but it's not healthy to think they're only pretending support for financial gains.
I didn't say they are homophobic, i said their religions are. I know is tricky. Maybe their interpretations of their religions are not homophobic. But the books are there, these religions are homophobic. What i want to say is: if they follow these religious then they must be homophobic, is in the book. Also i want to know if pleople see Kpop as Lgbtq+ friendly or not.
-
Homophobia and religion are not correlate? Come, on.
-
listen. You obviously wanted to talk about religion and since you knew that's controversial topic you decided to rephrase it to be about lgbtq because most people here are either pro or are lgbtq and that topic isn't controversial. You should have been honest and title it properly. Don't hide behind lgbtq issues.
You said that religion hates lgbtq which means all religions people hate lgbtq people. Which is incorrect. We've had religious people here who support lgbtq people, and you have religious lgbtq people and i know them.
Because freedom of religion is a human right. I couldn't care less about religion, I'm not even baptized (my mom was against it, she wanted my sister and i to wait till we become adults and decide on our own). But i have no issues with other people believing in their teachings.

It was obvious in op what his attentions were. He could have talked about (miss)treatment of lgbtq people in general, instead he focused on religion. You don't have to be religious to be homophobic (i know such people) and you can be religious and be lgbtq person (i know such people as well). He talks how not everything is black and white and he made it to be black and white.
-
-
Maybe their interpretations of their religions are not homophobic. But the books are there, these religions are homophobic.
The latter is false.
If you look at holy texts like the Bible or Qur'an, the texts don't say to hate on, discriminate, demonize or kill homosexual people (I don't think). They simply state that whichever God that presides over them did not create humans that way and that it is a sin, aka, they just don't support it.
It is the believers that perpetuate the hateful behavior thinking that's what it means to be a "true (insert religion)," while totally ignoring the fact that yes, the religion doesn't support it but the religion also doesn't support hate, discrimination, and killing, and I'll give you an example.
I have a Muslim friend and a Christian friend. Both know that I'm gay but don't care enough to let that dictate how they perceive me despite their religion being against it. Keep in mind that I met those people in 7th grade/High School and I'm still good friends with them even today.
On the other hand, when I was in high school, there were a group of kids that were Muslim and Christian. These kids bullied, insulted, and made sexually stereotypical jokes about me and how I identify as a homosexual.
You might think the religions are homophobic, but a lot of religious people only use that as a front to bash people that don't conform to their beliefs. That's why its become so widespread for homophobia to be associated with a religion and that's where I believe you've fallen victim to that stereotype.
There are several religions that are not "homphobic," as you put it.
Humans are just shit.

Mmm, yes and no. I want to know how people here see Kpop. If is LGBTQ+ friendly or not. Plus, if is possible, i want to know if the religious people i mention before see Kpop as LGBTQ+ friendly or not. And if they see Kpop as friendly why they consume Kpop if goes against their religion.
Religions (the ones i mentioned atleast) hate LGBTQ+ people. Girl, I read the bible and some of the Coran. The words are there. Come on.
Im not against people believing what the hell they want. Is their right, and is my right be able to critizice their beliefs. -

Oh, mention us as "abomination" is not hate now. Jesus, the things i have to read.

I'm from orthodox country. A lot of people are religious on paper (they identified as such in census but don't practice it). You don't have to be religious to be homophobic and vice versa.
-
I never said is not about religion. And. ofc you don't have to be.
-

Your take is wrong when you start mentioned The Bible and Coran as not homophobic books. The words are there, and proof that are homophobic is the millions of believers that use their words to defend their hate against LGBTQ+ people.

Btw, dont matter how hard you want to pretend these religions are not homophobic. Sorry, they are. The texts are there, millions of people use it as a source for their homophobia. There is a reason why they use them for this.
Some religious people are not homophobic? Congratulations. Maybe they could tell what they think about what their holy books said about homosexuality. I can bet they think is bad but not bad enough to question their God. Such good allies. -
