ALLDAY PROJECT - ‘WICKED’ [Bop or Flop]

  • This is very bad. Why is Tarrzan the center when he's not as good as Woochan? It felt odd that he's the focus when his rapping skills isn't close to Woochan's imo. I am just disappointed that it's 1 singer and 4 rappers. There's no balance in the group. I think they would've worked better if one of the guys can sing but it seems like the 4 members can't. It really does feel like this group was built to farm aura because this whole thing is a mess imo. At least the choreography improved

Hopefully the other members improve but the clear standouts are Woochan and Youngseo. The others need to step it up. I just think Teddy missed with group composition because we need another vocalist and can't have Youngseo carry in vocals. It's hard to have idol rappers carry a group when most of their skills aren't up to par.

Yeah, the balance of this group is really bad.

4 rappers, and 1 singer? It makes absolutely no sense. Also, ngl, I am a lil concerned about Bailey's role.

Like, she is a monster dancer, but the skills of the other 4 members in that area are questionable. Like, the choreography for this "performance video" was meager tbh. They weren't doing much at all, and the only thing really moving was Bailey's face with her facial expressions. It's starting to feel like she might be wasting her talent with this group.

I feel like they gathered 3 really talented people, and then added in 2 influencers. One of which is a nepo baby.

It would have made more sense to debut Woochan, Bailey, Youngseo, and at least 1 male vocalist.

  • And while I don't think he's like top ten of 5th gen rappers in kpop right now

    Oh yes he is.

As a matter of fact, he takes the top spot because he actually writes his bars unlike whichever other idol rapper is in the top 10.

    I very much agree.

I genuinely wonder what Tarzzan brings to the group. Annie, Bailey, and Woochan are better rappers than him and I'm disappointed with even his dancing skills because he was a contemporary dancer but still lacks an understanding of shapes and forms.

The choreo improved, yes but other than the chorus and the parts where Bailey/Woochan is the center, its bland. The song itself is dookie. Woochan's parts are the only reason I would ever want to listen to it again.

The "swagger" also feels incredibly forced. Especially on Tarzzan.

Side note: I think Woochan might be a second vocalist to Youngseo.

  • It's starting to feel like she might be wasting her talent with this group.

I mean, I sort of agree.

Everything is right with this group except Tarzzan and the fact that they are under TBL.

Bailey is a monster dancer and has good rapping potential, Woochan seems like all-rounder material, Annie seems like an average dancer with slight rapper material, and Youngseo is a good vocalist and can obviously dance, also. Unsurprisingly, TBL will let all their talents go to waste by giving them a song that doesn't compliment them + forces this "swaggy, dripy and badass" image on them.

  • That would've been the ideal composition of the team.Honestly what do we know when both songs are charting in the top 100 on Melon

I agree about Bailey because it feels like she's just there and not standing out. If we didn't know her background, then we wouldn't be talking about her much based on what we've seen so far. Hopefully they can suprise and show us they have 1 other vocalist.

It will be interesting to see if the hype can carry this group. At the moment, it feels most are tuning in for curiosity and hype. Unsure how this will work long-term but i am just more disappointed they decided to ignore vocals and have an unbalanced group.

  • Can he sing? If so he's for sure their ace. It felt odd that Tarzzan took the center for a lot of the MV when Woochan was clearly better

Like I said above i am just confused about everything because Famous is currently in the top 20 and Wicked debuted in the top 100. I don't think the song is good, but I guess the hype is helping. They need to sort out balance, choreo, and music if they want this group to be long-term.

Yeah, I think the hype is definitely carrying them at this point.

But, maybe they can prove me wrong. But, they definitely need to step it up with song selection and performance wise.

I think he can. Obviously not on a lead/main vocalist's level but sub-vocalist, maybe.

And I agree yet again. I was watching the performance and genuinely thought to myself why Tarzzan is the center when Woochan who is right next to him, carries out the choreo way better.

But I wouldn't recommend trusting charts that easily. The group is currently riding on Bailey, Younseo, and Woochan's hype. Nothing more.

  • I'm still not sure what Teddy was thinking when he gathered all these kids and debuted them as a hip hop-based group. Because seriously, only that one dude (the normal one) can actually rap. I thought the guy with the braids would at least be decent, seeing how hard he’s trying with his 'hip hop style', but he's not even average. And the three girls? They're honestly just bunch of bad rappers too. No rhythm at all. Like, how is this even a hip hop group?

top 10 on melon is what teddy was thinking

  • i guess they spent all the MV budget on famous LOL. It is nice though to get performance videos where we can clearly see the members dance.

song itself is alright. definitely wont get the same approval or hype from listeners as this is pure YG hiphop versus 'famous' was more pop-hiphop and had a catchy chorus.

honestly releasing this after 'famous' is a misstep. 'wicked' sounds like a good album intro but releasing it as a single kinda kills the 'famous' hype a bit

okay, I might have underrated him by saying that he isn't top 10 material, but I still think that he isn't like top five for 5th gen rappers from his own material (for 5th gen, which is like late 2022/early 2023-now) and his material for ALLDAY project.

and also, other idol rappers do write their own lyrics as well, you know :huuh:.

i mean, i still disagree because I think he takes the top spot but i can't think of many idol rappers that write their own lyrics
