well I think the obvious thing is that we are more likely to treat k-pop as a sport and turn it into a competition, which leads to plenty of toxic interactions. It's really one of those things where it's impossible to say definitively, and it's not as if there isn't plenty of toxic female gg stans, but I wouldn't be surprised if men are more toxic overall.

With the exception of ban waves, yeah. Especially recently.
I think toxic male kpop fans tend to show their toxicity more aggressively towards other people, attacking individuals and getting abusive towards other members of kpop spaces. Something reflected here with banned trolls.
Toxic female kpop fans, in my experience, tend to be more toxic and hateful towards idols and groups. You don't see them in the trenches as much attacking and abusing other members of kpop spaces, but they are making gross and sometimes very extreme comments about idols looks, bodies, lifestyles etc. Because of this, they tend to escape scrutiny and bans a bit easier. When they do attack other fans, it's in more general terms (but still usually gross), it's "All Blinks are XXXXXXXXX", "Bunnies are XXXXXXXXXX", and less aimed at shredding individuals.

I've seen plenty of toxic fans from all fandoms, male or female. The common denominator to me is that these people live for their groups and idols, and have basically little else, so when their "faves" are threatened in any way, they protect them like their lives depend on it, because in a way, it does.
