    original post: here

    1. The man being born in 1984 is oba

    2. That's the PD's fault though

    3. No but their age gap is oba...

    4. What's with the age gap? Although their specs are similar

    5. What's with the 84 liner???

    6. Both the man born in '84 and the female contestants must've had a mental breakdown learning about their ageㅠㅠㅠ Seeing the teaser for next week, he said that he wasn't able to approach the female contestant that he liked.. the producer is too much...

    7. What's with the age gap?

    8. When they revealed their ages, the man born in '84 grabbed the back of his neckㅋㅋㅋ This was the producer's mistake

    9. The man born in '84 does stand out in terms of age but overall, there are a lot of couples with more than 6 years age gap

    10. They all look so mature compared to their age...

  • These kinds of shows are always stupid and scripted - but the age difference here is not large enough to merit such faux K-Netz outrage. Nobody is being forced to say "yes" to anyone. and Jiwon is 26 - not exactly an innocent child.

Still the fact that oldest male contestant was born in 1984 and oldest female contestant was born in 1995 is already big gap don't you think? This is 11 years after all.

The fact that oldest man and youngest female were paired that was their own choice of course.

Still it would be different if for example there would be one female contestant Born in 1987 or 1988. You know that would even things out.

  • 11 years isnt a big deal for 2 consenting adults. Its not uncommon nor problematic.

Yes, the whole tone of the protests is that "The evil producers are forcing her to date an OLD MAN!!!!" - which is absurd. In the USA show "The Bachelor" about 90% of the participants have SAG Cards - they are all aspiring actresses looking for TV exposure. I suspect the same is true in Korea, and the poor pilot is the real victim. :-)

I find people who use ageism to be weird. Shes well above a consenting adult age. If she has a problem...maybe dont do the show. But anyone who complains about a 10 or 11 yr age gap is weird too. Pilot just wants to find love and has to deal with being judged for his age. So weird.

Edit: Not to mention the screen shots could be out of context what if her shock is simply because he doesn't look his age and it wasn't a negative reaction?

    it's just cultural difference things

+ age gap in this case is 15 years

  • Its not that big of a deal. Cultural differences or not.

At one point it isn't a big deal

I guess everyone has the 'different point' set in mind

I saw some comments on twitter saying:

"everyone is adult in this show"

then in Poland you are adult when you are 18

    let's say girl is 18

    and man is 33

    for me it stinks

and I guess just at one point that bad smell is gone, just question is when

  • *shrugs* when your an adult of legl age youre able to make your own choices. Me personally people have to be at least 21 for me to think of them as an adult. anything before 21 nope. If you aren't old enough to go to a bar or club you're not an adult. With that said once you hit 21 age is just a number as long as it's 21 and up. Sorry not everyone is going to see this as an issue.

  • I remember watching a Danish dating show where a 36 year old stripper chose to date an 18 year old. (he had to choose between the 18 year old and the 19 year old)

But I feel like this is different.

Edited to add: But in that dating show, none of the other women wanted to date him, so he had to choose between these two.

for me a 40 yo uncle dating an early 20s is just weird asf. it's just freaking off, even if they're already a legal adult

the pd or whoever planned this shouldve just went with candidates around a similar age

not sure if the old man knew how young the girls were though, mightve already signed a contract to film the show

    see that's the thing

here you can go to club, drink, and drive a car when you are 18

it's just life, everyone can have different opinion

as for show itself... I will say once again this was producers mistake, they should just add one more/swap one of mid age girls to older one

this way they could later say hey but there is also one noona here for 3 other men and there is age gap too, so what's the problem?

they could also say that they've had hopes that the oldest contestants would be interested in themselves etc.

  • they don't need to swap, that's the point, there's nothing wrong here.

I don't think it's weird at all. as i've stated above.

neither of you will get me to agree and see a problem where there is none.

  • I watches the show. It's a good one.
First they were in Italy without knowing their age nor their work.
They only had colored books that each one wrote to present themselves.
So they were choosing their partner to go out dating without much info.
She was attracted first by another popular guy who made clear he wasn't interested.
Then both clicked together. He made good impression to her, and her to him.
Later they revealed their work (plane copilot vs samsung engineer) and their age, and the most chocked was the guy. He had hard time to adjust when they went back to korea where the show continued.
Then she genuinely clicked with another contestant who showed more interest to her.
At the end, they were still friend but that's all. He had a real bad timing, and pretty much too conservative.
