  • I like them but I have to disagree

I don't think they took over and need another year like last year. I don't think they're that much ahead of Ive and Idle. I think they're just slightly ahead of the other big groups due to NewJeans hiatus. When NJZ announce a comeback, then Aespa will be back to #2 imo.

Aespa still needs better numbers globally if they want that crown. For example, Le Sserafim performs better than them globally. I am unsure why SM doesn't market them more because they tried when Aespa started but pulled back after it didn't work out

  • I don't think they're that much ahead of Ive and Idle.

Aespa last 3 title tracks completely anihilate all the latest comeback of Ive and Idle internationally

and a song release in october 2024 is currently charting in the top 5 of youtube music korea (#4) while Ive latest comeback in February is charting is #10

Whiplash is #6 on circle digital point and Rebel heart is #8

and Aespa didn't even have a comeback in 2025 yet and their digital index point is going to already reach 600M points (currently at 592M) when neither NJ (490M) and IVE (456M) have already surpassed 500M.

Aespa have great and steady stream on spotify and they don't use heavy playlisting like hybe groups

plus i must say it's kinda ironic to say this when lesserafim didn't even enter apple music global this era

and Whiplash just became the #2 GG song in history to surpass +150 days in apple music global

and till this day Aespa is still the last GG to do +2M stream on spotify

and aespa isn't that far from lesserafim in total stream on spotify which is great for a gg who had a hard time getting the global public attention

if we look at the global think and not just spotify Aespa is doing very good

+ they have been able to maintain a total daily stream of 3M-4M outside of comeback era which is similar to what Blackpink and Twice is able to do when they didn't have a comeback lately which is a great indicator of their strong and loyal fanbase and stream

  • Agreed, Aespa has a strong 2024 but they need to replicate that year in 2025 to make this claim. Happy for them to have global success with their songs last year. I agree that Idle and Ive aren't that strong internationally.

Domestically, wasn't Idle not that far off from Aespa? I believe they both had the same amount of songs on the melon top 100 list . They both had songs that are still charting well from last year. Globally is where Idle needs to improve because they're weaker on that side.

My main point is Aespa is #1 at the moment, but I don't think their dominance is clear like NewJeans was. Curious to see how well Aespa's comeback performs
