I don't take idols as role models, they are just entertainment, some escape. I like that to be pretty, pleasant etc.,
Role models - I have far better people, than the fake presentation of idols. Role models are better when closer to my contexts and situations, than some distant land/culture.

Though IU might be an exception, because of what the ODG kid said, that she admired IU not for fame/wealth etc., but how she behaved with Choi Baek Ho.
When kids are learning good manners/behaviour from someone, than be awed by their glamour etc., that is a worthy person.
Still I rather take such people whose reality I know better as role models, than what is presented/packaged through screens.

I had to think of the "Can I improve this drawing?" guy on YT who helps people to learn how to better draw, he recently fixed some girl's painting and her refference picture was a model full of acne (girl even tried to draw the acne)
