uh as an adult i always say it, you never know what the next day brings....sometimes i really question the things that you post.
I say it to my mom all the time. I say it to my dad every now and then, even if he doesn’t deserves to know that I do love him despite of it all.
Tomorrow is never promised and I’m terrified of losing my mom even thou I’m an independent adult. I feel heavy in my heart when I hear people cannot tell their parents they love them when it’s true, seems cruel to the people envolved 😥

but we are kind of similar to Japanese here in Poland, we'd more often say "thank you for being kind/taking care of me/thank you for raising me well" rather than "I love you"

I totally get that every family and culture expresses love differently — and there’s no one "right" way. I just felt a bit weird reading the way it was phrased, like saying "I love you" as an adult is somehow odd or rare. For some of us, it's actually really normal and important.
This is a common thing with Asians, especially Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans. Not sure about the rest.
I also never said that to my parents
it's just a cultural difference
it's difficult for me to say it too
