Illitt, at this point, 'Billboard's Daughters'
At this point, aren't they the 'Daughters of Billboard'? This year's newcomer, Illit, recently entered the Billboard 200 with her latest album, achieving a record of two consecutive chart entries following her debut album. Photo courtesy of Belift Lab
It's not just Billboard's 'sons'. It's also Billboard's 'daughters'. This year's 'rookie of the year' Illitt.
Group Illitt recently succeeded in entering Billboard 200, one of Billboard's two main charts, with their second mini-album. This is their second consecutive entry since their debut album, which included the mega hit song 'Magnetic'. Among the K-pop artists who debuted this year, Illitt is the only one to have entered Billboard 200, which ranks albums, with more than two albums this year, and twice in a row.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard, Illitt's second mini-album 'I'LL LIKE YOU' made a 'hotshot debut' at number 94 on Billboard 200. This is their second consecutive chart entry since their debut album 'Super Real Me' released in March.
Illitt's 'presence' on the detailed charts is even more prominent. Billboard's 'Global (Excluding the US)', which is considered a global popularity index, is a representative example, and Illit led the 'double hit' by entering not only their debut song 'Magnetic', which became a popular song, but also the title song 'Cherish' of their second mini-album. 'Magnetic' in particular showed off its status as a 'steady seller' by extending the consecutive chart-topping record to '33 weeks'. Their new song 'Cherish', on the other hand, is gaining a global response with the global trend spread represented by the SNS challenge, which seems to be related to 'Magnetic', and the signature of the key choreography 'finger dance' with a highly addictive chorus. In the case of the choreography, the ripple effect is considerable, to the point where the so-called 'finger dance' was established as a K-pop trend code, despite being a debut group. The 'finger heart dance' implemented through the new song 'Cherish' is centered around making a heart shape by putting the thumb and little finger together, and is considered a fatal move that created another syndrome after 'Magnetic'.
