Chen has such an amazing voice. Definitely one of my favorites in kpop

Also Lights Out is such a bop too

Imagine thinking Chen has an emotionless voice just because you want to justify stanning your mediocre singing favs. Smh.

Make me cry all the time

Lights Out is one of my favorite Exo ballads and I especially love Chen's version

Universe album is a masterpiece

And lights out is such a beautiful and toucing track

Chen is a very promising lyricist

Lyrically some of my fav tracks; she's dreaming, flower, lights out, my dear... they are all written by him

In early years of his career maybe Chen had a bit trouble to deliver emotions. That's also partly bc he was given the most challenging parts

But now? You should be heartless not to feel emotions

I tried so hard to promote her

While I think sometimes singers with amazing voices can grapple with emotions early on (they don’t have the life experience but do have the technical ability), I certainly don’t understand how people can look across the landscape of the EXO discography and constantly come at them for being robotic or emotionless.

It’s not unrealistic to expect your faves to sound great, particularly if you like them for their voices and their music.

Climbing off my soapbox, the older I get, the more I appreciate the winter albums. I think this particular song has a heart aching yearning in the vocal performance. If that’s a robot, that’s one hell of a robot.
