A question for non-native English speakers

I was 9 when we started to learn English, but I was pretty bad at it till around 8th grade. Now I am better than many people in my country, but still not fluently, mostly due to that I'm not having too much to talk, so I can understand almost everything and know how to write most words, but if you would hear me talk you would know that I barly speak to anyone in English.

I learned English in kindergarten. I was around 5 years old that time.

I was almost seven when I came to Australia and learned English then

We started English lessons in grade 4, so I was 10.

Your answer made me really curious about which country did you grow up in, because I think it happened at the same time in my country (I don't remember it though, cause that's when I was born). Obviously, I'm not asking you for privacy reasons, just an observation.

I didn't know, thank you for replying. I just wouldn't ask anyone that, because I know people may not want to say where they are from, but it made me curious. I'm from Poland, so it looks like the foreign languages education might have been similar.

I started to learn English at school when I was 10-11 years old but our learning was very limited. Then I decided to study it in depth because I like it. Now I use it to work.
