Girl group BLACKPINK member Jisoo is considering appearing in a new drama “Monthly Boyfriend” as an actor.
According to OSEN’s report on the 29th, BLACKPINK Jisoo was recently offered a female lead by the production team of the drama “Monthly Boyfriend.” In this regard, Blissoo, which is in charge of Jisoo’s personal activities, said, “We received and currently reviewing the proposal.”
Jisoo first tried acting with the JTBC drama “Snowdrop” (abbreviated as “Snowdrop”), which ended on January 30, 2022. “Seolgang-hwa” is a work set in Seoul in 1987 that depicts a desperate love story against the era of Suho, a prestigious university student who suddenly jumped into a women’s university dormitory in blood, and Young-ro, a female university student who hid and treated him even in the midst of a crisis. In particular, Ji-soo and actor Jung Hae-in drew attention as the main characters.
Since then, Jisoo has made a special appearance in the movie ‘The Designer’ and has finished filming another movie ‘Omniscient Reader’s View’. “Omniscient Reader’s View” is a film based on a popular web novel of the same name and is expected to be released next summer. With actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Min-ho playing the lead roles, Ji-soo is expected to play the role of Lee Ji-hye, a high school girl called “Marine Admiral” later in the original.
Jisoo also finished filming Coupang Play’s new series “Influenza,” which drew attention last month for starring actor Park Jung-min. “Influenza” is known to be set in a high-rise air defense unit in Seoul, depicting the process of his girlfriend Young-joo, who was notified of his separation from soldier Jae-yoon, struggling with a group of zombies and running toward each other.
Jisoo, who established the third private label Blissoo among BLACKPINK members in February, is conducting individual activities by conducting group activities with BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment. With Ji-Soo’s brother Kim Jung-hoon as Blissoo’s representative, Ji-Soo’s personal activities are expected to focus on acting.
Separately, BLACKPINK met fans with the movie Born Pink in Cinema, which features the live performance of the world tour “Born Pink” to mark its 8th anniversary this year. It also plans to conduct a full group comeback and a world tour of BLACKPINK next year.
