Well, pretty obvious it was based on "visual talents" and not any other skills.
I mean... just look at what kind of magazine it is.

BABYMONSTER were voted the least talented girl group in a poll run by Japanese magazine FLASH.
FLASH ran a poll asking, "Which K-Pop girl groups are the least talented," and after 500 people sent in their votes, BABYMONSTER were voted the "least talented K-Pop group." Of the 166 who voted for BABYMONSTER, a part-time worker in her 50s commented, "They're all the same and have no individuality. They look like someone you could see anywhere," a civil servant in her 30s commented, "Their dancing is not in sync," a teenager commented, "They don't have appeal like the other groups," and a man in his 70s stated, "Their performances don't move me."
In second place with 79 votes is aespa. One company employee in his 50s commented, "Their songs are all the same, and their live singing isn't good either," a freelancer in his 30s commented, "They're not that popular. Their movements seem kind of sluggish," and a professional in his 60s stated, "I don't like their singing. They're not unique."
As for third place, LE SSERAFIM had 60 votes. A temporary worker in his 40s stated, "This can be said of all K-Pop groups, but their visuals, music, and performances are all similar. I've seen them before. They lip sync too much," and an office worker in her 20s commented, "I saw them at Coachella, and they were off-key a lot of the time."

Hmm this is surprising, I mean aespa and LSF I understand. But I assumed japanese men would love a group of mostly underaged girls
They like innocent underage girls who look vulnerable and not really talented that make them feel they need to help them to be success. BM is savage teenage girls with lost of talent. They don't like that.

Japan is the last country that should judge an idol's talent considering their j-idol system lol
Imagine calling Babymonster and aespa untalented... And even if Lsf aren't the greatest in vocals they're at least skilled dancers. Can't say the same for jpop groups
