Hopefully one day Spotify can disclose how many click stream plus artists streams vs other playlist and automatic stream.
It's basically harder to get youtube views than Spotify streams. At least for youtube you can't just put it on the bg and people who do ads got caught. Other company should play the game too, oh kpop.
Streaming farms are very real in Spotify and Apple Music, and some western labels were caught using them.
Hybe will eventually either own Kpop outright or share it with only one other conglomerate (most likely SM-Kakao). YG, JYP, Cube and all the mid tier companies will be under one or the other.
But as for what's happening now, New Jeans' cultural reset is starting to peak right now. Almost everyone has copied them with their music, aesthetics and MVs, comeback rollouts, or all of the above. EDM trap is dead, ultra cutesy colorpop is dead, even Izone elegance seems to be on its last legs.
Hybe buys success, people just don't pay attention to it and don't care because they love BTS.
