Tik tok virality and big collabs couldn't do it so we wait for that 2025 BTS comeback
It’s crazy when you think about it. All these groups achieving huge fanbases and doing bigger numbers than BTS did on bb 200 in 2018. And yet they can’t notch a song in top 10 on hot 100????
The radio excuse is overblown. Armys were able to score a top 10 despite no remixes, D2c sales and no radioplays.
But this begs the question. If fans are spending $20 to buy 100k to 200k albums, why can’t they buy $0.69 digitals which are far less cheaper and just need 50k sales to score a high entry on hot 100???????

Everyone and their mama decided 2024 was the year to release their brand-new catalog to the world. Rihanna is poised to dominate the second half of this year while Taylor Swift the first. Then of course any other big name artist is releasing this month and The Weekend is slated to release his album soon. This will not be K-pop's year to shine with all these album bombs drowning out even a top 90 debut.

I do hope kpop stans start gaining more brain cells that releasing remixes won't do anything if the kpop act fanbase isn't buying them. But I'm not expecting much logic to begin with when they use payola as an adjective for non-radio play. We moved on too fast from monopoly

They just want to buy to chart but do not want to really listen to their songs that's why we see 5M or 6M sales but 5 streams.
