My attempt at a Top 10 girl groups of the decade list (2010s)

Since no one can agree on generations starting and stopping point I think a list for a decade is a better way of ranking things. And yes this also complicates things a bit since a lot can change in ten years. The popularity of kpop in 2011 compared to 2019 is night and day. So this is my first draft of the list and you all can chime in and say what you would change.

1. Girls Generation

2. Twice

3. Blackpink

4. 2NE1

5. Red Velvet

6. T-ara

7. Sistar

8. Kara

9. APink

10. f(x)

Who should not be here? Who did I forget? Who should be rotated?

I can never tell what to do with peak vs longevity. T-ara had a higher peak but APink better longevity. Twice and Blackpink is a toss up for me honestly. But I think putting RV above 2NE1 is controversial.

I would say the best is maybe to look at each groups best five year or something like that. Apink have going on for a long time, but I have the feeling they had few years they where really popular.

I think T-ara is before Apink, Apink I would have last in the list. Sistar before T-ara.

Yeah that's the only reason Kara isn't higher on the list. I think you're right about T-ara over APink.

Another problem is fandom vs general public. f(x) was top 3 in album sales in 2nd gen and sold way more than Sistar but Sistar was bigger with general public. Same with APink. These three groups are hard for me to place.

They peaked in 08/09. They still almost make the list though. Maybe #11.
