I'm glad 1989 mostly came out unscathed as my 2nd favorite album.
As weird as it is, I think it's the accent (or lack thereof) that's throwing me off the most with the re-recordings 😭. It's like the seasoning was scraped off

I will admit that I don't think I've purchased a new CD since the late 1990s. In most cases these days, are they still just selling CDs in a basic jewel case format in the US?

The Vinyl revival is proof that If there was more interest in producing creative and collectible package for physical albums, a lot of western artists would sell better just fine.
Vinyls are the most different thing they have from the regular horrible jewel case cds.
I haven't bought a CD in ages, but I'm fairly certain that the basic jewel case format is still standard. Kind of crazy honestly.
