I think it’s highly possible that it’s the case I feel like black pink as a group really achieved a lot during these 7 years and now they’re ready for their very own solo projects and ventures

again the question is what is "bad" bad for whom???
for YG maybe...for the members themselves - absolutely not...
one must realise that the longer negotiations take the better it is since what is actually happening is that the parties both have vested interests and leverage and are negotiating and not just one party dominating the other...
in BP's case they have options and unless they get the best deal they can with YG they have other options of going elsewhere - they have leverage and for any kpop idol that's a good thing to have leverage and options

yeah, bts, twice and seventeen renewed their contracts months in advance without any complication or rumor. we are 2 months late with bp, lot of news and speculations around it so yeah is really bad for blinks and yg.
i think at very least the 4 of them want to continue as a occasional doing some few activities at year while being managed by other agency for their solo activities. That would be a very unfortunate condition for yg, those 4 girls individually probably earn more overall than as a group unless they are touring and their new contracts will deprive yg of their solo career income and it will make harder to get them together for tours and group comebacks. YG is doomed i fear.

If we care for them, it's not a bad sign. They're just negotiating for what's best for them.
Blackpink, the group, will continue. There's too much money involved for them to walk away from that. Most likely, they'll just focus more on their solo endeavors now, at least for a while.
Also, sometimes fans get so caught up in wanting to see them break records and beat other groups that we forget that doesn't matter as much to them. They're at a point where they're happy with what they've achieved as a group. It's just smooth sailing from here on out.
