Tbh I expected it to be higher
Why? Besides French being #3 it’s not surprising. US is a predominantly English speaking country so makes sense that most streamed songs are English. Also most of America don’t even know a single kpop song and kpop fans usually stick to just listening to their few favorite groups.
Bad Bunny has also been the biggest musical act globally the past few years so makes sense for Spanish to be 2nd… that and the US has a big Spanish speaking populatiom.
I think about 99% of the people here listen to foreign language music (with English being number 1, but other languages featuring as well).

how is it sad? The US is the biggest entertainment industry in the world and the primary language spoken is English… most people live by “if i can’t understand it, why would I listen to it” approach to music, which is perfectly fine.
It's closed off, narrow-minded, people rob themselves of great experiences and artists singing in lesser-known languages of bigger success.
