People have been calling about anime and video game companies (Japanese) why their products are so white, like literally EVERY character is white or looks white. Same with anime. And few of these companies have paid attention. But when it comes to kpop, ifans are like "I only want to see Eastern Asian presenting faces." Lana receive massive hate from ifans because they decided that she was fully white even though she has mixed Eastern Asian heritage. Ok, so you have your Eastern Asian fetish, but what right do you have to dictate who can participate in kpop and give them hate for it? If more people of non-Eastern Asian background want to be kpop idols and they are able to pass the audition, that's their decision. If you don't like it, then don't consume. Don't try to trample on diversity just because YOU don't like it.
Can y'all explain why diversity in kpop is bad but in anime/video games it's good

No one has asked for more diversity in anime or game set in China Japan etc. For example in Genshin Impact there is a region that’s literally supposed to be South Asian and Central Asian with no character that’s dark. That’s where people ask for diversity. No one looked at inazuma and asked why there weren’t Indian inspired characters there.
CREATING WHOLE WORLDS and having diversity in it is entirely different from an industry with real people based from one region.
I know your small brain and bigoted personality doesn’t care about this response but I hope others can gain something from it.

anime is a broad thing, not all anime is set in japan, so you can easily have characters from other races, just look at attack on titan. white/asian/black, no problem. I have not seen one person call out all the whiteness in any anime, with video games, literally nobody cares, as long as the game is good, I like diversity in EVERYTHING as long as POC characters are written and designed well and not with any racist /ignorant intent, I never want to see black characters in anime because most of the time they draw us with big lips, an afro and like a caricature, so it's always a pass for me with the few exceptions where they get it right
for K-POP, people are just angry. They don't like change, I really need someone to tell me a good reason as to why anybody cannot be an idol. Kpop profits off stealing culture and music from the west, so why can't foreigners be idols? if they learn the language and are talented WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? there is genuinely none. This whole debate diversity is stupid to me, who cares. like really, we all know no big company will ever debut a black idol, so you guys can have your "peace". but don't hate on smaller companies debuting idols who are from any other race than asian, it's not going to kill you.

China is literally known for censoring POCs from media, so you picked a bad example with Genshin Impact. Also nobody is talking about revisionism, but just more diversity in general. Like if you're going to tell stories, it shouldn't all focus on things about white people.

Nobody ever complained about it except for some twitter randos.
Because there wasn't any major platforms to express their thoughts that then could be seen by the company (or at least their social media assistants/interns). There's nothing wrong with diversity. If conservative Koreans had it their way, all kpop idols would strictly have to be Korean and look like their perceived notion of what a Korean is supposed to look like.

Exactly STORIES. And WORLDS.
Kpop is neither.

Kpop is just as fictional.

OP will never understand this basic thing. He really thinks creating entire new worlds or even having literal worlds based on other countries and then having no representation is the EXACT SAME THING as an industry with real people from on specific region.

Dragon Ball has aliens in it, when are Aliens going to be allowed to join kpop groups? We need diversity!

How can u compare real people to anime and videogame characters lmaoooooo
Diversity is expressed in different ways. Obviously they cannot appropriate culture, so what they can do is express diversity through members. They don't HAVE to, but ifans shouldn't be against it as if it was an existential threat when it happens.

He thinks he’s being clever. He takes real issues that people care about like diversity and twists it into narrow definitions that are outrageously stupid to show people “how stupid SJWs and their demands really are”
It’s a very common tactic used by bigoted people to undermine real issues. He thinks everyone was born yesterday and can’t figure this out lol.

That's bullshit. Even if we discard the fact that we are comparing real people to characters, Kpop is a niche in the music industry that is supposed to satisfy korean consumers first and foremost. Videogames on the other hand were always diverse despite a large portion of the consumer group being bigots so I don't know why you even mentioned it. I agree about a lot of games being very white, but doesn't mean it justifies comparing it to kpop because the correlation is obtuse. Anime also never had the obligation of being diverse. Just like kpop it was created to satisfy japanese consumers first ans foremost. Both South Korea and Japan are homogenous countries, they don't have to satisfy foreigners, it isn't the same case of US that deliberately choose to not be diverse when they are one of the most diverse countries with the most diverse public.

I'm against bullying and hypocrisy. The only thing I said is ifans SHOULDN'T hate diversity in kpop. I didn't say companies MUST be diverse. So it clearly looks like you are twisting my statement. Instead you seem to act like those right wing people with their own set agendas trying to come of as "reasonable" by rejecting points of view different from yours. And it's a fact, there's nothing wrong with diversity. We have kpop thanks to diversity.

Obviously nobody should be FORCING others to adopt anything. However, my point is ifans shouldn't be hating on diversity just because it's something they don't like for whatever reasons. If it happens, fine. If you don't like it, you can just move on and not start an entire campaign to get rid of diversity whoever it is expressed. What's so complicated about that?

Like I said, demanding diversity from a homogenous country is very different to demanding diversity from a diverse country.
