I miss how it was.
Kind of a tangent... But...
And actually this specifically made me miss old Kdramas.
I miss old Korean melodramas from back in the day. My formative years in Korean culture were during melo hayday. And you'd hear all kinds of moody R&B or some such..... Sometimes a working on of some contemporary boy band R&B crooning during a romantic scene or what not.
They had such a special feel.
I didn't realize how special that look and feel and way of making stories was, and specific it was to the ethos of that time.. until it faded away.
They weren't all Netflix produced with high budgets and grasping for international prestige like kdramas today.
They hit different. And I connected with them more.
Similarly kpop felt so different. It felt like its own little world more than it does today. And I miss the old school R&B that was commonplace to that older era.
It had a magic touch.
