Is WakeOne a good company or I should be worried for upcoming group?

  • After the end of Boys Planet I'm looking forward to a debut of group formed through the show (ZEROBASE1) and I'm scared how they will be manage. Some say that they are one of the worst companies while others say that they are quite good or simply not that bad. Can you help me and tell me more about it and your perspective? I'm especially worried considering that their center is chinese and companies are often discriminating them.

  • I can tell you that they will work their asses of

like for real just look how many releases Kep1er in both Korea and Japan

add to that all variety shows, performances, KCON's, festivals, concerts

  • Is there a really reliable kpop company? Maybe Hybe (I'm not a fan of any hybe group, but as a outsider they do their job well), since they groups do comebacks and capitalize the hype well, but even companies like SM or YG make the fans mad.

Overall, I have some good expectations. Wakeone was a mess for kep1er, but just like I.O.I, Kep1er is a experimental group, made to build the hype to another reality (produce season 2 and boys planet). And the hype is bigger for ZB1, since boys planet was more famous than girls planet, and the lineup made (almost) everyone happy.

For me, the messiest move from wakeone is collect trainees and never debut them, only debut project groups. Not gonna lie, wakeone trainees future (sans Taerae) worries me a lot.

  • I feel like they definitely messed up with Kep1er. The investment is huge and there's a lot of promotion but title tracks have just not been well picked. They've done ok with Jo Yuri but that could also be better. I think their weak point is picking songs, maybe they lack inhouse people who are capable of picking songs for albums or they're unwilling to invest in top producers' songs, no clue.

When IZ*ONE moved from Pledis to WakeOne the music quality also dropped a bit. The 2 WakeOne albums are great but flower trilogy title tracks and b-sides are always dominating any vote about top IZ*ONE songs and BLOOM*IZ was their biggest success by a landslide.

I do think they did overall a decent job with IZ*ONE and I would imagine they know how much potential the BP999 group has. Doubt they will mess it up.

  • i dont know how any of these works.

can someone explain to me how survival groups are handed to what company to manage them?

was their any other company competing against wakeone to acquire them?
