So I just finished watching Fruits Basket (2019 version) and I’m not okay, I’m a MESS

I read all of the Mangas! Fruits basket is an incredible story
one of my favorites, i love how it invoves the story of the zodiac
the writer did a fantastic job

I remember watching the 2001 version as a kid. It was so hilarious, there's a lot more comedy in it compared to the recent version. Who was your favourite character?

One of the better Shoujo manga and anime but I feel old because I watched the original 2001 anime lol

Omg noo don't feel old, I watched the 2001 too ages ago.
I would say the 2019 version might not be as funny as the 2001 version but it deals with the heavier topics really well.

Kyo is so funny and loveable!
Yeah she's a very sinister villain, but I do appreciate how complex and human they made her at the same time

Fun very fact for a very long time I thought that Kyo was a man because the name sounded masculine to me and in the French dub she had a masculine voice

anyone have any ideas of what kind of anime would also intrigue me if i liked fruits basket? i started Clannad and its got sort of... the same slice of life feel to it. so i love that. so far ive loved, studio ghibli films, tokyo ghoul, your name, a silent voice, after the rain, garden of words... i wish wish wish that there were more anime like fruits basket but im afraid therell never be another one that i consider so well made. character development is top notch. nevertheless would love to hear of other gems. someone suggested to me... clannad, komi cant communicate, princess tutu, tora dora and little witch academia... any other suggestions??? anything is welcome!!! im happy for anything to try

Try Vanitas no carte - good storyline, characters with personalities and development, has fair share of funny bits
Would have recommended Pandora hearts too but the anime didn't follow manga and doesn't do justice
