    1. [+2,400] All schools need to start doing this

    2. [+826] As expected from the university of our people ♥️

    3. [+141] Amazing! This is a good decision! 👏

    4. [+494] As expected from Korea University! 🙌👏

    5. [+930] Basically, your application will be rejected if you don't prove that you have good character 👏

    6. [+344] I hope that this is the beginning of other schools implementing this change so that we can cut down on school thugs getting in purely through the connections of their rich parents..

    7. [+275] It should've been this way all along. Good on Korea University for starting the change!

    8. [+70] Love this 😍 This should also be considered for employment applications as well 👏 We need strong restrictions so that school bullies have no chance at life at all! 🔥🔥🔥

    9. [+79] Please consider adding a clause where students who drop out and take the GED must also have school violence records included in their applications

    10. [+23] A lot of loopholes with this... like if the high school just straight up deletes the record?

    - [+8] I reckon rich parents will just pay off school principals to delete it off the records, etc

    11. [+1] The power of media

    12. [+42] Now this is what I'm talking about~~~ 🙌

    13. [+16] This is also a good sign for future employment... I'm sure employers will feel better about hiring Korea University candidates as well

    14. [+19] As long as no one's deleting the records 🔥🔥

    15. [+40] A good start 👏👏👏👏

    1. [+398, -3] As they should! What's it matter if a student's brain is full of memorized English words and math formulas if they don't have a good character to back it all up! Being a good human is priority.

    2. [+112, -0] Yes, such penalties are necessary if you commit such crimes. Society should be set up so that school bullies will regret their decisions for the rest of their lives.

    3. [+59, -1] If the government isn't going to do anything about it, it's time that society enacts change like this on our own

    4. [+55, -6] Now that's the Korea University I know

    5. [+8, -0] I totally support this. The roots of all school bullies need to be ripped out from the ground so that they don't have anywhere in the world to step foot in.

  • I'm surprised they weren't already.

I thought Universities automatically reviewed those kinds of records and didn't allow people with bad attitude records to attend?

  • South Korean movies and dramas have been romanticizing school bullying for such a long time. Hopefully, this can lessen the bullying reports and other schools will follow Korea University's qualifications.

  • This is really going to depend on how it's implemented. Middle/High schools need to make sure that they are applying their disciplinary policies fairly and consistently and the brunt of this doesn't just fall on the poor or less connected kids. The allegations need to be very well documented too. Also, maybe there needs to be a way to rehabilitate. Not being able to go to college in a country like SK has lifetime ramifications.

I'm surprised there's not more pushback on this. Lots of people get up in arms anytime an idol gets into a bullying scandal from their past.
