If 4th gen starts from 2017, then 5th gen starting from 2023 seem correct? Which gen is Baemon?

    3rd gen starts from 2012 with Exo debut and end in 2016 with Blackpink/NCT. The Boyz debuts in 2017 and is considered 4th gen.

    So if 3rd gen lasts 5 years, then 4th gen already lasts 6 years from 2017 to 2022. People say 4th gen hasn’t made a mark yet, but in 2017, no 3rd gen groups has become super big yet, BTS/Blackpink only reached their global breakthrough 2/3 years later. BTS was the 1st 3rd gen group to chart on Billboard 100 in 2017, just like NewJeans is the first 4th gen group to chart on Billboard 100 in 2023.

    So with this being said, 2023 being 5th gen start seem correct, do you agree? But would Baemon be 4th or 5th gen, because most still consider them 4th gen but they debut in 2023 so they should be 5th gen.

    2017 is still 3rd gen. You could say the boyz is an exception because they debuted in December. Around that time bts and bp were already big and they def left a mark by then. For now there’s too many new groups who haven’t had enough time to do the same but who are already kinda surpassing earlier debuts. Babymonster is def 4th gen. They’ll be in direct competition with new jeans and ive who debuted less than/ around a year ago
