BTS generated 1 trillion won in sales revenue in 2022 (892,000,000 USD in today's currency)

  • While I agree they should get more, this is quite ridiculous ;( They can't operate everything well with the remaining 20% only.

BTS is very profitable and HYBE don't exactly need to invest on BTS like they do to newer groups since BTS is already a money printing machine. There's no need for HYBE to get a big cut in profit like before.

Also, you can see how they literally do a bare minimum now especially in promotions. A 20% - 25% profit is enough to support BTS' activities. HYBE is also getting more profits (% wise) in other groups. BTS is also in their 3rd contract renewal in 2024.

    To give you a visualizer,

Let's say the profit margin for BTS is 45%

SM revenue 2022= 848.4 billion won

    OP= 93.51

    BTS' revenue= 1,157 billion won

Profit Margin (45%)= 521 billion won

    HYBE's OP (20%)= 104 billion won

    HYBE's OP (25%)= 130 billion won

Note: This is just a visualizer to show why a 20% is fine. I used SM ent to show a better comparison. As you can see, that amount of money is enough to keep the operations going in SM a whole ass company. You can argue that HYBE has more employees, but they also have more revenue streams than SM and have more profitable artists other than BTS- as you can see to their total amount of OP.

A 25-75 or 20-80 contract deal is a standard for the caliber of BTS. I remember a Loona member getting 70% of profits, so I don't see why someone as big as BTS won't be getting a higher profit-share.

  • I think they barely broke even with PTD SK.

That was because of covid restriction, but they definitely break even with the simultaneous live and cinema viewing. PTD in Seoul cinema generated 33.6, the actual shows 5.9 million usd and then the live streaming around 56M USD. In total, PTD in Seoul generated about 95M USD. Not bad for 3 days of concert.

  • With how well kpop is doing in the west and how BTS grew the most during the pandemic and even during "hiatus" they could have made way more money. HYBE is really cutting off their own nose to spite their face. Shows you how HYBE is truly incompetant because making money should always be the number one priority of any business.

  • i hope the tannies get what they deserve. they are the dominant group in HYBE and built it so they should get what is rightfully their's

P.S. : HYBE / BIGHIT USE THAT MONEY TO DO PROPER SOLOS FOR THEY BOYS !!!!!!!!

i helped w that as last year i got 3 BTS albums : Proof , Butter Peaches Ver. & BTS THE BEST : )

  • Not just flowers... They better lawyer it up! They deserved more of that dough!

I still can’t wrap my head around giving BTS(the whole group) about 1% of shares when they literally built that company

To know how ridiculous their shares amount is they gave Ariana and Justin Bieber who are outsiders’ shares almost equal to a BTS member.

This feels like a father who writes on their will to give their children who helped made him a billionaire , the same amount of wealth as he gave to his recent girlfriend who only dated him after he became rich(weird analogy but it’s simpler to see things clearly this way)

  • I seem to remember kpoppies announcing the end of BTS and the beginning of their "flopping era". I guess even without "making a noise" as how idiots described BTS in 2022, they still outsold the industry. I believe their idea of "no noise" when describing BTS is completely different from the "no noise" their own faves create.

BTS "NO NOISE" = $800 Billion plus revenues

this sounds eerily similar to what's happening with the will money in my family right now lol

But yeah, the outsider part is def unfair.

  • To know how ridiculous their shares amount is they gave Ariana and Justin Bieber who are outsiders’ shares almost equal to a BTS member.

Actually, it's given by Scooter to Ari, JB and other acts under his management even before the HYBE acquisition. Some of the deal entails a payment in form of stocks.

HYBE definitely gave BTS a miniscule amount of shares compared to their revenue contribution and the part they played in their company. Fat man (and I mean Bang PD) even gave Pdogg more shares than each members, so good to know where he stands lol. Pdogg was given 128,000 shares meanwhile each members only got 68,385 shares ;judgingpepe:

Exactly, Bang should lose some of his shares and give more to Bangtan! 😭

I may root for Hybe if he do this!
