Kim Soeun is especially my favorite.
Hey brother. I know this thread is old but I was running through some of k-drama threads of the past and saw I missed this.
Oh my God I love Kim Soeun.... I had no idea she was in Boys Over Flowers!

Dear Lord I fell in love with her instantly. She's so maddeningly adorable and so pretty.
She has one of those "innocent doe" like faces that brings out strong protective instincts. When you see her, you have this unstoppable feeling of wanting to take her hand forever and protect her from harm.
I've only seen her in one thing, the 2014 k-drama Liar Game.
I loved her in that show. She was absolutely perfect for the character she played. She plays a good natured naive girl who is thrust into a shadowy high stakes game show where the entire purpose is to lie, deceive, and exploit everyone to your own gain. Her character serves as a stark juxtaposition to the premise of the gameshow, that everyone is fundamentally deceitful and self-serving, and that the true nature of the world is that "everyone lies", and therefore one must cynically exploit others through deception to "win". In contrast her character is genuinely honest and good, and proves as a foil to the Machiavellian central premise, her honest nature ultimately proving the value of being genuine and kind and believing in people as it inspires true loyalty and mutually beneficial cooperation from others.
It's a great k-drama thriller you should check out if you ever need a new one to watch. One of my top 10 or so favorites.
I definitely need to watch Boys Over Flowers now, since she's in it. I had always been wanting to watch it as it's one of the standards of the early Hallyu wave, but just hadn't gotten to it yet. Kim Soeun being in it gives me even more reason to watch it.

I agree with everything you said except the “DO NOT WATCH IT” part. As you said, it’s pure drama crack, and arguably the birthplace of some wacky tropes — there could be no Heirs without BoF before it. Even if you have to hate-watch it, this drama is an important milestone in understanding the rise and evolution of dramas as a whole. And it seems to me like drama-crack might be coming back into style... after all, what are the THREE seasons of Penthouse except a more slickly produced update to the Boys over Flowers universe? All the bullying and dragon moms we loved to hate in BoF but without the goofy romance that at least gave me some small sliver of hope for humanity.
