Kind of sad that they didn't get a concert in Japan. It probably would be crazy fight for tickets

To be honest, digital is still pretty weak in Japan. Most of the money came from physical sales.
Hmmm...i wouldn't say weak. It's still a lot of money esp for BTS' back catalogue. But I agree, physical sales are still popping in Japan. Although it's changing now in streaming.

Japanese people are great collectors.
This is unarguably BTS the biggest and most important market but still it is just one country....

Yes. Japan is one of the rare countries where the young population is relatively small compared to the older population, the television is still heavily used, people still buy physical albums and other things, but do this not just to collect but to really listen. I mean, they still using fax machines... That's why the digital breakthrough is happening here much slower than in other countries.
In the spirit of Christmas, I made wishes for the Kpoppies:
I wish all the Kpop groups to flop the way BTS does. I wish they experience the worldwide recognition that flopping like BTS brings.
I wish, for once, the kpoppies experience the exhilarating feeling of their faves called a "flop" while they gather records after records achievements and feats.
I wish for the Kpop stans to feel how Armys feel when they see BTS still topping or placing high on the charts even when the rest of the bitter and deluded stans say otherwise. Kpoppies deserve to feel that deep sense of excitement for their own groups.
I wish for them the best "flop" for the coming year!

DVD sales is the number one contributor in the revenue 😯
In DVD sales, “BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO” and “BTS Memories of 2021” accumulated sales on DVD and BD respectively, and the album “Proof” was the driving force.
In terms of digital works, “Dynamite” delivered in August 2020 and “Butter” delivered in May 2021 continued to increase the number of streaming views, and streaming playback of “Permission to Dance” and digital album ” Proof” downloads were strong. I understand. I see some similarities to Germany, where I work we still use fax as well, because a lot of workers and bosses are +60. Now were starting to make some changes in the way we work, but I had to learn how to use a fax, because in Spain I've always worked only with computers

If we go into the details, the fact that BTS's songs are available digitally but Johnny's talents don't, make the difference. The important factor that enabled BTS to sit on the top was their more digital presence.

Yup, BTS makes up for it with DVDs, their back catalog still selling like hotcakes and being digitally available. And imagine if they actually released a few singles and album for the Japanese market. Johnnys groups would probably just stare at the dust behind them lol
