Based on the 4th gen performance now, do you think kpop will continue to rise or will face the downhill later?

  • With how fast kpop scene is moving right now especially when selling a million albums is not surprising anymore, do you think it will go down as fast as it goes up like most trends these days? Based on the performance of 4th gen now, do you think they are able to maintain the hype and expand it more on a worldwide level or not?

  • From a numbers point of view (sales, streams, concerts ..), I think yes the growth will continue for a while.

From an artistic point of view I think that "kpop" is already dead or rather dying. The number of Western producers in the creation of "kpop" songs is only increasing, there are more English used in the lyrics many think that kpop has an influence like this clown JYP for example. But in reality from an artistic point of view they are totally absorbed by Western industry and especially by USA industry. We saw it recently in the charts, the most popular music in Korea in the last two years "Next Level" and "Love dive" are from Western songs.

Korea right now underwent the same process as what European countries experienced 20 years ago at the musical level.

If you really love something, you have to know how to let go.
