K-pop Radar by music startup Space Oddity unveiled the new “2022 K-POP GLOBAL MAP”.

BTS, BlackPink (incl. Lisa), Twice,

Stray Kids, Seventeen, Itzy,

aespa and Psy.

Top countries where KPop is popular (for whatever reason china is excluded)

Korea 10.3%

Japan 7.5%

Indonesia 6.8%

India 6.0%

Thailand 5.4%

Mexico 4.9%

USA 4.7%

Philippines 4.7%

Vietnam 3.3%

The rest of the world 43.1%

With China included, the share of K-O-R-E-A in Kpop is less than 10%.

So it is revealed that Korea, with less than a 10% share in KPop, wielded an influence which was probably not deserved ; the world fans have to wake up and realize how irrelevant K-O-R-E-A is to KPop and begin to shun it.

Korea will always be important to kpop, im pretty sure all of these artists would love to be recognized in their own country+ all of the award shows and most of their performances will be there so yeah Korea will always be important. However I think the map is really intersting! It really goes to show how wide spread kpop is and how evenly spread it is. Except the Koreans , both the old (embracing trot) and the young (being hell bent to send BTS to the military) don't want that. They want to remain domestic, supporting singers such as the one on the left of this post.
