Are fandoms getting braver now that BTS is in hiatus?

  • Yeah pretty much.

They see it as a way to brag about their group "potentially" being on top, now that "BTS is out of the way".

Which to me, it seems like everyone is token stanning Stray Kids, because people see them as the next "big thing", because of the Billboard 200 stuff and their pre-order numbers.

You know theirs A bunch of success stans in kpop, so I wouldnt be surprised if in this time period SKZ gain A bigger fanbase. Also TXT and ENHYPEN I can see rising up the pole too, cuz people looking for groups that's already on top to Stan them.

But I feel like people don't realize, BTS is gonna be back quicker than they expect.

They not doing the usual military time, where they all come back in 6-7 years.

They all going right after the other back to back pretty much.

Kpoppies dont realize 2025 will be here sooner than they thinking. Its already 2023 in 1 more month.................

They better watch out for BTS group comeback...

4th gen does see a lot of bandwagon fans but tbh I'd disagree that skz are getting the most of them

  • 4th gen does see a lot of bandwagon fans but tbh I'd disagree that skz are getting the most of them

Tbh the reason why I said SKZ was cuz, a big amount of fans starting stanning them this year.

And I know I've seen some people say that Stray Kids got some leftover ARMYs, which is true. A good amount of ARMYs that stopped stanning BTS has hopped to SKZ, especially this year alone.

Also, I dont really see EN- or TXT getting the bandwagon treatment. Like literally the only group is SKZ, who's gaining success stans in real time.

If not them, then you could tell me which group is getting the bandwagon fans. /gen

  • Serious? Fandoms of all types have been deluded since BTS won their 1st daesang, citing all sorts of factors as to why their faves aren't doing as well as them, how they will end them, just wait til they enlist, etc. Kpop fans live to get embarrassed by BTS at this point.

  • They are gaining fans but their company is not taking advantage of it, on the contrary they are exploiting them with continuous comebacks and tours. SKZ is a group that releases good songs but at this time I don't see them surpassing their old songs, while groups like treasure and Enhypen have viral songs. His fandom makes up for a lot of the shortcomings, which is why his popularity is not on the decline. In the case of TXT, the press prefers them as a representative group, either because of their appearance and their musical style.

  • I bet my akorns that there will be no boy group that will top the digital points of dynamite, boy with luv and spring day.

  • Tbh the reason why I said SKZ was cuz, a big amount of fans starting stanning them this year.

How does it follow that they're all success stans?? Has it ever occurred to you that thanks to their continuously increasing exposure they're gaining more and more fans for their...*wait for it*...music?

And I know I've seen some people say that Stray Kids got some leftover ARMYs, which is true.

Yikes leftover is just such a...strange way to call ex-armys....let me not get into that now, though. At this point, basically every fandom has got some ex-armys. What is your point?

A good amount of ARMYs that stopped stanning BTS has hopped to SKZ, especially this year alone.

No, not really, it's not true like that. The majority of stayarmys I have seen (and I've seen a lot) who dropped SKZ for BTS did so around the time they released MOTS Persona and the English singles, and had been stanning BTS since 2017 or earlier at that point, and did so without negative feelings towards the group, simply because they no longer saw a point in actively following music releases that aren't their cup of tea. Any stayarmy who still stans both groups in 2022 won't drop them just like that, not to mention stayarmys aren't as significant in numbers as you believe anyway. Armys who stanned after Boy with Luv, on the other hand, are much, much more likely to drop BTS for TXT or another Hybe group. It makes sense too if you think about it honestly.

Also, ever since TXT debuted and Hybe formed with more groups under them, a lot of influential army accounts have become more hostile to non-hybe groups and significantly more supportive to hybe groups; this structure in fandom spaces discourages people from diverging what I stated above.

Also, I dont really see EN- or TXT getting the bandwagon treatment.

    Are you being serious lmao

Like literally the only group is SKZ, who's gaining success stans in real time.

Once again, how could you tell they're success stans?? Stray Kids have always attracted a lot of people not previously into kpop why do you think their growth would have come from another place now that they're more successful than ever lol

If not them, then you could tell me which group is getting the bandwagon fans. /gen

Both txt and en still get them due to being hybe groups, though with a slightly decreased rate now. Primarily ggs are getting bandwagon stanned these days imo. Like look at how everyone was an aespa stan until their last cb and when they began pulling slightly weaker numbers they moved on to ive and new jeans, some to lesserafim (emphasis on the latter two in the case of armys, but especially newjeans)

I don't see them surpassing their old songs

    why exactly?

while groups like treasure and Enhypen have viral songs

I mean, there still hasn't been a viral 4th gen bg song that matched up to the impact of God's Menu.

Also you're wrong because Christmas EveL was massively viral on tiktok 1-2 months before Enhypen's and Treasure's last viral songs.

They are gaining fans but their company is not taking advantage of it, on the contrary they are exploiting them with continuous comebacks and tours.

    unfortunately true

In the case of TXT, the press prefers them as a representative group, either because of their appearance and their musical style.

What makes you think they prefer them? Both groups do get called representatives fairly often

  • More like armys been up everyone’s ass since bts announce their break. We won’t forge the “kpop struggling to defeat 7 artists” claims y’all had🤡

  • definitely. they think that since bts is "out the picture" their faves have a chance at the top spot (delusional if you ask me)

  • In the case of TXT, the press prefers them as a representative group, either because of their appearance and their musical style.

    You know what, I agree.

Cuz now that I think about it, I always see Korean media name TXT as "4th Gen Representatives" "It Boys" or "4th Gen Leaders".

Those are the main 3 that I see.

And yeah we all know Stray Kids is leading males for 4th gen groups.

BUT I guess TXT fits the bill in terms of a boy group that represents Kpop in this 4th generation.

Like I've heard the term " flower boys" from Koreans on Pannchoa and other Korean sites, on what they call TXT visuals and aesthetics as a group.

I feel TXT is always gonna be that group that people casual like and respect, even if they aren't at #1 or #2 among top groups.

Their music is easy to listen to, and their group aesthetic like I said is nice.

Its just that nowadays, people like the rapping and trap sounding music. Stuff that's very loud and in your face, while TXT music isnt like that, so people think they boring or don't care to check them out frfr.

But again, they always gonna be the group you respect musically and like their personalities, even if you don't stan them.

  • They are right to get brave though. By the time BTS do come back you just know it will be with some corny sentimental song that makes no noise just like yet to come.

The craziest thing is, the corniest BTS song is still at least listenable. Like it has a melody. Most boy groups have unlistenable/noise music, that’s why no one take them seriously.

  • writing this much about some mediaplay as if there was anything more to it lmao

also you don't know shit about skz's music, the generalising is embarrassing

funnily enough it's skz I actually see being explicitly praised for doing something different with their music
