How do you think IVE's US debut will do?

  • Apparently, they are under a pretty big U.S label. It's the same as Blackpink.

I think if this label makes the right choices, it can go very well. :/

I think they something along the lines of Bella Poarch, Dua Lipa or Ariana Grande would suit IVE?

  • better than aespa and itzy for sure

they do well in spotify global without a foreign label at all

  • I'm still waiting for the english version of eleven after that snippet from the producer on yt.

All their songs are gonna be bops

  • If its on the same level they currently are it will already be good enough.

  • why go to us now?. focus on korea+japan and SEA.

so far the remix afterlike holiday and queen of hearts are not even good.

title tracks are good but their b sides are not good at all

focus on a full album or mini first in korea + japan before going u.s.

  • Their vibe won’t work in USA outside existing kpop community.

NewJeans has the most global friendly sound, and LSF has a chance, too.

Overall, however, girl groups in the west are not a thing with GP (Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child were exceptions that kind of prove the rule.)

They aren't going to, at least, not as far as I know. I am just mentioning it since they apparently already have a U.S label, it seems a U.S debut will inevitably be in the nearby future. I don't know when though. But they did kind of just drop this collab out of nowhere so who knows?

My bet is at least in a year or two.

  • They're mediocre performers with mediocre talent, only Liz and Rei can sing live well

Bts and bp are not the most talented but they have/can give memorable performances.

It will be funny to watch though

  • Thank you, someone who's realistic.

They are very stiff performers and don't have much going on..especially not energy.

Not to be mean, but I wouldn't spend ANY money to see them live, unless I just wanted to see how pretty they look in real life.

Plus their sound isn't Americans taste...the ones outside of kpop.

Reminds me how JYP tried to promote TWICE in the U.S, knowing dang well their music isn't anything of what Westerners outside of kpop like.

You'd be delusional to think they gonna have this big impressive U.S debut lifestyle.

Why you think AESPA who been doing it since 2021 still ain't making noise in the U.S. Only thing SM can do is spend money and make deals to get them at festivals and certain events. But other than that, no noise.............that's how it's gonna be with IVE.

I love them though💕, but just being real.

  • So many weirdos on this thread feeling bold enough to talk about Ive when their own faves are flops by their own standard since IVE is the best performing group both in US and Japan with a gap compared to every other 4th gen group. Not subtle at all what feeling is behind all that bitterness.

So being realistic is being weird now?

guessing you hate hearing the truth? you also don’t believe they’ll do well right?

  • Nothing will happen, only media hype and some kpop stans believing it.

  • But doesn't the music matter more than their performance. I don't think that is the issue.

I agree they might not give a trend-worthy performance, but I disagree that their song doesn't suit non k-pop fans' taste or won't be liked by them. I'm not sure if their K-title tracks are suiting to American taste 'cause I have no knowledge of the pop of today anymore. But, won't the production be carefully overseen so that it fits in with pop of today?

What I think will be a bigger issue is their voices and their English pronunciation. Remember how Yujin sings the chorus in After Like. I mean, of course they would try to manage pronunciation in the studio, but some voices and accents will just not sound as natural singing in English as the others. Mainly I'm thinking about Yujin and Rei but I don't feel like any of them will sound natural.

  • umg barely do nothing for bp

its bp that push those numbers not umg, I've do generally well but idk if a us debut will do much from what they are already doing

To be honest I don't know what these ppl are talking about in terms of music taste either. Out of all 4th Gen groups IVE (Next to New Jeans) is ones who' music suits the West the most. During this part of the collab the Lany guy sang part of After Like in English and it gives a very Dua Lipa vibe to me.

As for their english prounciation, I am a bit surprised you mentioned Yujin. I would think Leesoo, Gaeul, or Liz is probably the most to worry about. Even so, most of IVE I actually think have pretty decent english pronunciation together.

Hearing their cover of Little Mix's That's My Girl, it sounded pretty natural.
