  • I'd like to know what the questions are because those scatter-graphs don't look like grade 8 math

"Taemin is raising 16 children, the y axis is the ages of the children and the x is how many seconds they can hold their breath, 1. what is the most common breath holding record"

Now that I looked again I feel like the graph questions are probably asking something pretty easy like how many people are at least over 180, or what fraction of all the people are over 180.

But I just find it weird that such a question is being asked with a dot graph and not just a table or something.

Yeah, I think they are more advanced, since some people from Asia who move to NA realize they already learned the math in their grade.

scatter plots are a good introductions to functions and more advanced plots

  • Seeing this math and imediatly feel stupid as an adult

but than again my maths went like:

Paul, Lisa and Mark are working on a festival in dish washing. Paul works 3 times more than Lisa but 2 times less than Mark but Lisa still works 5 times more than Mark, how many hours did everyone work when the total is 60 hours

    Or

When 5 mashines do the work in 10 hours, how many hours do 3 mashine need. And if 5 mashine produce 100 pieces in 10 hours, than how many pieces do 13 mashine produce in the same time. But what if these 13 mashine work, but after 3 hours 1 mashine breaks, than how many pieces did the mashines finish to make?

    Or

Paul has no flatrate on his phone, now he wants to figure out if he actually needs it. He checks the facts, 1 flatrate with free SMS and free call and 6GB wifi costs him 15 bucks a month. He curently uses a contract where 1 minute talk, 1 minute internet and 1 SMS are 6 cent. He uses 30 minutes a month on his phone, should he buy the flatrate?
