Mr. Kate Decorated A BTS Themed Room

  • Hello! So, a while back, I remember watching her a lot. She's funny, and I like seeing her cute relationship with her family and the finished rooms. Anyway, I recently went back to check out her channel, and look what I find. She decorated a BTS room for an ARMY. Not only that, but you can tell she did her research on the band and was very respectful about them. For example, she acknowledged the wonderful impact BTS have had for so many people, didn't reduce ARMY's to a bunch of teenagers, knew that Jimin and J-Hope shared a room, and are the only two members to do so, and because of that, drew them in the same frame, drew an outline of each member (which involves knowing what they look like and being able to make them all stand out in one way or another in her drawings), could tell the difference between the BTS and ARMY logos and so on. Honestly, she set the bar high for non-ARMY's (or just in general, I'm unsure if she's an ARMY or not herself).

Anyway, all of that aside, check out the room renovation. I think it turned out great. Here is the full video. If you have time to watch it, please do. It's worth it.

If you'd rather not watch it though, this YouTube short shows the before and after of the room, some (but not all) of the decorating process and a brief part of the reaction of the ARMY to seeing the room.

Anyway, this just made my day, and I figured ARMY's would like to see it. How do you think she did? Is there anything you'd change about it? Have a great day/night!

  • I'll take a look at it later! Thanks :finger-heart:

  • Yes, I just skipped to the end to see the finished product (that's what I usually do anyway unless I'm really invested in the content and process of the video LMAO)

But OMG THAT ROOM IS LITERALLY THE PERFECT ROOM FOR AN ARMY!!! I'm absolutely in love!! :lover1:

This would be my dream room lmaooo...I was actually thinking about only having a section of my room dedicated to KPOP, like maybe a few posters and a bookshelf with KPOP merch. But after this, I most definitely want to decorate my first room like this

It is, and you could tell just how much the ARMY loved that room too. Yes, go for it! I feel like a pink and peach room would be subtle enough to look normal and pretty, but also be very Twice-y too, so it would be great. You can even frame pictures of Twice like they did for BTS, either fanart, posters or ones you drew.

I know, I saw her reaction as well, and it was so cute!! :mesmerized-bee:

    Omg, that sounds amazing! :blushing:

I'm turning 18 next year so I guess I better start thinking about sort of thing! After spending the summer at home and with friends after graduation, I'm planning on going to a local university and live on campus until I turn 21 (because it's required by law...maybe I'll spend a year abroad or live at home, who knows?) so I probably won't be able to paint my walls in a dorm room. But it would be nice to do so when I get an apartment (I feel like living in an apartment would suffice for me until I can afford a house)...

I'm not really sure what the rules are for dorm decoration at my first choice of college or how big the rooms actually are but I'm sure I can come up with something. I just hope that my roommate won't find it obnoxious that I'm practically obsessed with KPOP (it'll be a while but I don't see myself leaving the KPOP scene for a LONG while)

I've always wanted an aesthetic room. Pink, green, yellow and blue aesthetic rooms have caught my eye lately and I think that what you suggested is a great idea!

  • Yeah, painting walls in a dorm room sadly won’t be allowed, but you can still use the pink/peach furniture idea (like bedding, decorations and so on) if you want to. Wait, local universities require you to live on campus? That doesn’t sound right. None of the local colleges where I am require it and quite a few don’t even have on campus housing. The ones that do make living on campus completely optional. The only ones I heard of doing stuff like that are huge, out of state ones that attract bunches of people from all over.

Yep, that sounds like a good plan. Most apartments won’t let you make permanent changes though (like paint or wallpaper), so you’ll likely be working with a lot of the same restrictions as you would be while decorating a dorm room, minus sharing it.

You can always look it up. Most colleges that have dorms show the dorm room layout plans and size, so you can know in advance how much and what kind of furniture to bring. They’ll have the basics like a bed and desk, and possibly a couch or some chairs if it’s a bigger apartment, but plan on bringing your own furniture for smaller things. Wait, this may or may not work, but you could bring your light stick and use it as a desk lamp/light when studying if you’d like, especially if the desk doesn’t have built in lighting. Or what about a pillow that looks like the 1st gen Twice group badge. Stuff like that would look nice.

Most college aged people are all doing their own thing and won’t care too much, as long as they are good people and don’t feel like you’re being forceful about it.

That’s cool! I hope the system works well and gives you one you love. How many roommates are you getting? At mine, I got five (it was six people per dorm room, including me). Thank you! I’m glad you like it.
