Of course. BP's English fluency is a huge part of their international appeal.

Kind of? It makes it easier, given language barriers, but it doesn't mean overall success

Do you think they will gain more western fans if they can speak english?

Mina is an english speaker
No she's not. She knows more than most of the other members, but that's really not saying much. Nayeon even seems to have better English skills than her at this point. Tzuyu is up there as well. But none are remotely fluent.
Realistically, having one fluent English speaker in your group is overrated and won't actually help you much. If a group has to do an interview overseas, the interviewer will want to talk to more than one member. Having a single spokesperson for a nine-member group is incredibly awkward. Would it be better than having no one fluent in the language? Probably, but not by much. It may not even matter with fans at concerts and such, who are usually willing to accept listening to a translator, but if a group wants to try going mainstream or even attracting new fans overseas? They better all speak English. Or at least go the Blackpink route and have just that one member who says a single word or two that they memorized, but they will inevitably become the least popular.
