So even just acknowledging a group you dislike without judging your taste is fine

Most of them don’t know Blackpink. Some are Kboos and know Kpop and like it. Most have heard of BTS and know BTS are Korean/Kpop. You're not accurate. Once a colleague found I liked kpop, they said they only liked that BP song with Demi Lovato. Dont downplay BP, they are much more popular among pop music fans with their collabs with big pop artists like Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga than BTS. BTS is mostly known because of their fandom and in not a good way.

as someone who lives in the us. majority of people dont know who blackpink is but a lot of people know who bts is. either way u will get made fun of for listening to kpop, thats why u dont tell anyone.

armys always talking about Blackpink n telling others how blackpink aren't known in US yet their charts say otherwise

you really over estimate the popularity of kpop in the US and the knowledge of the general public here

Most people don't know BP. BTS has at least gotten number 1s and for long periods, invited to multiple award shows and been regularly talked about in media including from other celebs. BP has none of that

It is like meeting people who know only the most stereotyped commercial popularized fast food from your country.

That gives a chance to educate them about the wonderful varieties, far better in quality and authenticity.

To piggyback off what you said. BTS have been on national tv in their Samsung phone ads. Trust me when I say Americans know BTS.

Kpop fans think because Bp got invited to some talk shows as a novelty after BTS that people know them. They don't. They probably say, oh look cute girls, must be another kpop group.

That's why you never tell people you like K-pop, they won't understand

Regarding the title of the OP, saying BP isn't relevant or popular in the US doesn't make you an anti.

Unless you’re involved with kpop or on stan twt you’ll know who those groups are. Kpop is still niche here even with bts though they’re the most well known

You can insist all you want. It still won’t change the fact that BP isn’t well known outside of kpop. Blinks are so delusional that they can’t admit that BP is known for their media play and not their music. That is why the public doesn’t know about BP. The public barely cares about music and social media is even lower on the totem pole. BP whole career is media play about how popular they are on social media. BP barely promotes their music. I bet there are BP fans who don’t even know BP puts out music as their main job

They promote fashion and their social media platforms. That is it. BTS at least performs their music and have gotten on the radio without a western collaboration. The only time BP got any radio play was because of Selena and then the payola ran out and they dropped it fast. Like I said: Stop leeching of BTS and then discrediting them at the same time.
