    I mean it's competition is a song released only 3 weeks beforehand, so that song would also apply to the "not released in Janurary or year before" scenario.


    Either way, we're getting a song released 3 months into the year as #1 song.

    Looking at Love Dive on a whole I would say it deserves SOTY regardless. Not only did it smash on K charts, but also internationally too. It did better than Tom Boy in general.

    Gaon soty for april is guaranteed to go to still life. No other song released this year is even close to its 30day digital score so far.


    Doubt it will take any other awards tho.

    Fairly self explanatory. The guy is an asshole who's raised to think he's all that, and the protagonist basically says no, it's my world here.

    There's a cultural stereotype about females, in Korea, that if a lady swears, she's assumed to have all "bad habits", ie smoke cigarettes, delinquent, etc etc. The protagonist is simply stating - I'm allowed to swear, and it doesn't mean anything else about me

    Again, the cultural stereotype on full blast - she drinks "whiskey" and man's drink, and will have sex if she so chooses, puncturing the "purity" stereotype that incels of Korea always try to smother girls with.


    Lyricism is great - says exactly what it needs to, reaching into Korean Stereotypes and is a powerful, feminist statement.


    No surprise anon have no idea how to understand lyrics. Go back to your poppy love songs singing about "oppa", leave the real music to people who can recognize it.

    Groundbreaking stuff, talking about love and obsession. Never done before ever by Kpop. Hoo Boy. And ancient western mythology... completely fresh and new... of about 2 months since INVU came out with the same theme.


    Again, it's all meaningless. Their not saying anything, it's just using an analogy to talk about the humdrum stuff all those songs sing about, love and romance.


    Tomboy dropped barely weeks into the election of an anti-feminist president. Obviously not planned those direct circumstances, but it's a powerful song in a country that doesn't take too kindly to that message, and no wonder it resonated so wildly. Love Dive is a good song, it's catchy and it's fun, but don't make me laugh about saying the lyrics are anything special.
