I'm so happy for BTS's success in Japan. There are still some JPOP fans, that denies how big BTS are in Japan. I actually left an online JPOP music community because it was constant BTS bashing and all they do is hate on KPOP; so pointless and silly. Happy to see other members get more love in Japan too since V was always the favorite among J-ARMY discussions back in the beginning.

Jpop fans or western fans are no different to kpop fans. BTS literally dominated in Japan charts last year. They are just bitter that their local artists didn't stand a chance despite BTS not doing any major promotions or going to varieties. So they think they didn't deserve the success. You can hear Dynamite & Butter everywhere in Japan. Even in convenience stores there are a lot of BTS goods that they sell.

I think that was a natural reaction on his part. Exo as a whole were still super popular at the time. They were probably trying to adjust to the status change. The whole scene was funny though.
I think y’all overestimate kpop popularity. Before BTS it was not that huge outside Asia
but kpop was popular in Japan even before BTS
