Ideal number of back up dancers for soloist?

I used to think 4 or 6 is good. Then Advice and Bad Love came with 12 and my mind was blown over how dramatic and theatrical they looked. Now watching Gasoline dance practice with 20, I'm thinking the more the merrier. It's just matter of having the confident to be better than all of your back ups, which Taemin and Key certainly do.

A smaller group is perfect but a bigger one could work based on how well it looks with the song and soloist.

you should use them wisely but still be on the front and don't have situations when you are relying on them

if there is a need for that dancers to be all the time on stage and in heavy numbers

then you basically are failing to captivate public on your own

I have seen him in a concert with an army of dancers and he still stood out.
